5 Electrical R equirements Observe all gover ni ng codes and ordinances. A 120 V olt, 60 Hz, AC only , 15- or 20-amp fuse d electric al suppl y is r equir ed. (A time -de lay fus e or cir cu it br eaker is r ecom men ded .) It is recommended that a sepa rate c ircuit serving only this app liance be provided.
6 In contrast, mic rowave ovens ut ilizing th is microwave sys tem deliver t he select ed powe r level con tinu ously . This consta nt stream of micr owave power helps to minimize over cooking of foods and messy food spatters. Sensor Cooking The microwave system features sens or cooking functions.
7 Browning Pan and Handl e The Br ow ning Pan , wi th a nons tick sur face and det ach able handle , has been spe cially d esigned for mi crowave use, and i s ideal for p an-frying (pan-browning) food s in th e microwave oven. The Br owning Pan is also used as a dr ip pan for gr illin g.
8 To u c h S c r e e n The LCD t ouch scr een i s used to i nput com mands. A light- to medium-press ure touch of the fin gertip w ill act ivate th e menu choice. However , sensit ivit y of the tou ch screen may vary , and using th e tips or backs of finger na ils ma y provide more accuracy whe n inpu ttin g co mman ds.
9 Progress Bar 1. Progress bar The progress bar is a visual pi cture of the estimate d running time of a cooking cycle. It will appear duri ng sensor cooking functions. The line app ears bel ow the wo rd “Sensing,” and shows p rogr ess by the darke ning of the line f rom the le ft.
10 Ve n t F a n The vent fan has 4 s peeds ranging fr om Off t o High. T o protect the oven, t he fan will auto matically t ur n on at high speed if the t emperature from the range or cooktop below gets too hot. It may stay on for up to 1 hour to cool the oven.
11 Night Ligh t The Night Light can be programmed to automatically come on when low light levels are detected . T o Se t the Senso r for Night Lig ht: 1. On the “Home” screen, touch “More Choices.” 2. T ouch “H ints & Settings. ” 3. T ouch “M ore Ch oices.
12 OVEN USE A magnetron in the ov en produces microwaves which reflect off the metal floor , walls and ceili ng and pass through th e tur ntabl e and appropriate cookware to the food. Mi crowaves are attracted to and absorb ed by fat, sugar and water molecule s in the food, causing them to move , producing friction an d heat which cooks the food.
13 T o T es t Cookware or Dinnerware for Microwave Use: 1. Put cook ware or d innerwar e in ov en with 1 cup (250 mL) of water besid e it. 2. Cook at 100% cooking p ower for 1 minute. Do not use cookwar e or dinn erwar e if it be comes hot a nd the wate r sta ys c ool.
14 Cooki ng T o Use the Auto Cooking F unctions: When using prese t cooking powers and cook ti mes for select ed food types (Cereal, Eggs, Fr ozen Food, V egetable, Grains, Meat, Poultry , and Fish), follow the “Cook” menus to sel ect amounts and begin the auto function.
15 Popcorn Popcorn is a sensor function. The sensor determines the appropriate poppi ng time of commercia lly packaged microwavable popcor n. ■ Remove rectangul ar cooking rack before use. ■ Do not use regular paper ba gs or glassware. ■ Pop only 1 package of popc orn a t a time.
16 Defrost ing The auto defrost featu re has 3 ca tegories : Meat, Poult ry an d Fish . It should no t be used for food left outs ide the freezer more than 20 minutes an d frozen ready-ma de food. The micr owave oven can also be manu ally set to defrost.
17 Grill The Gril l function uses a 1, 500-w att haloge n and q uartz el ement that heat s qui ckly to gr ill a var iet y of fo ods. ■ Oven cavit y and door will become very hot during gril l element use. Th e use of oven mitt s is recommended. ■ The cir cular grill rac k and Br owni ng Pan wi ll become very hot .
18 Boil & Simmer The Boil & Simmer functi on has progr ams for simmering rice and past a. U se the Manua l S immer fu nctio n f or fo ods such as soup s, casser oles , stews and oth er liqui d food. B oil & Si mmer is a sensor function. ■ Cover di sh wit h its li d, not p lasti c wrap.

20 OVEN CARE General Cleaning IMPORT AN T : Before cleaning, make sure all controls are off and the ov en is cool. A lways follow label instruc tions on clea ning products. Soap, wat er and a soft cloth or sponge are su ggested fi rst unles s otherwise noted.
21 Replacing Filters The grease filters should be removed and cleane d at least on ce a month. Do not opera te the oven without t he filt ers in place. The charcoal filter cannot be washed and should b e replaced every 6 to 12 mont hs. See “A ssis tance or S ervi ce” t o reorder filte rs.
22 TROUBLESHOOT ING T ry the solutions sugges ted her e first in or der to avoid the cost of an unnecessary service call. Nothing will operate ■ Has a household fuse blown or has the cir cuit breaker tripped? Replace th e fuse or reset t he circuit.
