11 IMPORT AN T : Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilat ion air around the bur ner grate edge s. Burner cap: Always keep the bur ner cap in place w hen using a surface bu rner . A clean bur ner cap will help avoid poor igni tion and uneven flames.

13 Gri ddle (o n some models) The griddle, made of brushed, cold-rolled steel, is similar to those used in commercial kitchen s. The griddle is packaged with a protective grease coating covered with pap er that must be r emoved completely with hot, soapy water .
14 Home Canning When canning for l ong periods, alte rnate the use of surface bur ners betw een b atches. This all ows time for the mo st recentl y used areas to cool. ■ Center the can ner on the grate. ■ Do not place cann er on 2 surface bur ners at the same time.

17 Broil Setting s Use the follow ing chart when setting broiling le vels and broiling temperatures. BROILING CHART For best res ults, place food 3" (7 cm) or mor e from the broil burn er . Times are guidelines only and may need to be adju sted for indivi dual tast es.
18 Convection Roast Convection roasti ng can be used for roasting meats an d poultry , or for baking yeast breads an d loaf cakes usin g a single rack . 23 Oven Lights The oven lights are 12-volt, 5-watt maximum halogen bulbs. They will come on when the oven door is opened. On double oven models, b oth upp er and low er lights wil l come on when eith e r door is ope ned. The ov en lights wi ll not work during th e Self- Cleaning cycle.
