12 Using Push to Talk 2U SING P USH TO T ALK The Push to T alk (P TT) feature on your Kyocera KX 440 Series phone allows you use your phone like a walkie-t alkie radio to quickly communicate with an i ndividual or group of individuals. Once c onnected, s imply press your phone’ s walkie-t alkie button to communic ate.

Note: If a headset is connected to the ph one, PTT calls will come thro ugh the headset speaker, and you speak through the he adset microphone.
14 Using Push to Talk T o cancel, press th e speakerphone button. • To make PTT calls come through the earpiec e and silence ringers — From the home screen, select Me nu → Settings → Silent Mode and select a vibrate or light s setting. T o cancel, either pres s the speakerphone b utton or select Menu → Settings → Silent Mode → Norm.

16 Using Push to Talk Receiving a barge call When your phone recei ves a barge c all, it sounds t he “Barge” tone, and then you will hear the c aller speak ing through the speakerphone.

The “OK to T alk” tone sounds, and the message “Connected to” appears when the audio path is ready and at least one member of the group is available. Note: If all members of the group are unavailable, a message appea rs on your phone screen.
