1 Introduction The APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is designed to prevent blackou ts, brownouts, sags, and surges from reaching y our equipment. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) filters sm all util- ity line fluct uations and isolates yo ur equipment from large disturbances by i nternally disconnecting from the utility line.
2 Connect Equipment and Power to the UPS 1. Connect equipment to the UPS. Note: A laser printer draws signific antly more power than other types of equipment and may overload the UPS. 2. Add accessories to the Sm art-Slot (optional). 3. Connect gr ound leads to the TVSS screw (optional).
3 2: O PERA TION Front Display Panel I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTION Online The UPS is supplying utility power to the connected equ ipment. AVR Trim The UPS is compensating for a h igh utility voltage. AVR Boost The UPS is compensating for a low utility voltage.
4 F EATURE F UNCTION Self-Test Automatic: The UPS perform s a self-test automatically when turned on, and every two weeks ther eafter (by default). During the self-test, the UPS briefly operates the conn ected equipment on battery. Manual: Press and hold the button for a few seconds to initiate the self- test.

7 4: S TOR AG E , M AINTENANCE , AND S HIPPING Storage Store the UPS covered in a cool, dr y location, with the battery fully charged. At -15 to +30 ° C (+5 to +86 ° F), charge the UPS battery ever y six months. At +30 to +45 ° C (+86 to +113 ° F), charge the UPS battery every three months.

10 P ROBLEM AND / OR P OSSIBLE C AUS E S OLUTION BATTERY CHARGE AND LOA D LED BARGRAPHS FLASH SIMULT ANEOUSLY The UPS has shutdown. The internal temperat ure of the UPS has exceeded th e allow- able threshold for safe opera- tion. Check that the r oom temperature is within the specified l imits for operation.

12 Limited Warranty American Power Conversion (APC) warrants its p roducts to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchas e. Its obligation under this warranty is limited to repair ing or replacing, at its own sole option, any such defective products.
