ENGLISH GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, gr ounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by pr oviding a path of least resistance for electric curr ent. ENGLISH SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONNECTING ELECTRICITY • Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the gr ound prong from the power cord. T o pr event personal injury or damage to the dryer , the electrical power cord must be plugged into a properly gr ounded outlet.

ENGLISH A B LEVELING FEET Four leveling feet (two in the front, and two in the back) adjust to improve dryer stability on uneven floors. FRONT -MOUNT LINT FIL TER Front-mounted lint filter allows for easy access and cleaning after every load.
CLEARANCES IMPORT ANT : Follow the operating and care instructions in this manual and your dryer will provide many years of reliable service. It is important that you review this entir e manual before installing and using your dryer .
ENGLISH 11 Use an adjustable wrench to turn the leveling feet. T ur n clockwise to raise the dryer or counterclockwise to lower it. Raise or lower the leveling feet until dryer is level from side to side and front to back. Make sure that all 4 leveling feet are in firm contact with the floor .
12 REVERSING THE DOOR Open the door and remove the two plastic hole caps on the catch side by gently prying up with a flat blade screwdriver . Save these for step 6. 1 Hole cap While supporting the door , remove the 4 screws, two from each hinge. Set the door aside face down on a protected surface to prevent damage to the door or the work surface.
ENGLISH 13 CHANGING THE DR YER VENT LOCA TION Y our new dryer is shipped to vent to the rear . It can also be configured to vent to the bottom or side (right-side venting is not available on gas models). An adapter kit, part number 383EEL9001B, may be purchased from your LG retailer .
VENTING THE DR YER w W ARNING: T o reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury when using this appliance, follow basic precautions, including the following: • Do not crush or collapse ductwork. Failure to follow these instructions can result in fir e or death.
ENGLISH Correct V enting Incorrect V enting Routing and Connecting Ductwork Follow the guidelines below to maximize drying performance and reduce lint buildup and condensation in the ductwork. NOTE: Ductwork and fittings are NOT included and must be purchased separately .
Electrical Requirements for Gas Models Only • Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the thir d (ground) pr ong from the power cord. Failur e to follow this warning can result in fire, explosion, or death. • For personal safety , this dryer must be properly grounded.
ENGLISH • Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer , service agency , or the gas supplier . Failure to do so can r esult in fire, explosion, or death. • Use only a new stainless steel flexible connector and a new AGA-certified connector .
18 Electrical Requirements for Electric Models Only • This dryer must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system, or an equipment-grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the equipment-grounding terminal or lead on the dryer .
ENGLISH 19 Remove the terminal block access cover on the upper back of the dryer . Install a UL-listed strain relief into the power cord through-hole; then thread a UL-listed, 30 A, 240 V , 4-wire, #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor power cord through the strain relief.
CONNECTING ELECTRIC DR YERS (cont.) Remove 5 inches (12.7 cm) of the outer covering from the wire. Remove 5 inches of insulation from the ground wire. Cut off approximately 1 1 ⁄ 2 inches (3.8 cm) from the other three wires and strip 1 inch (2.5 cm) insulation from each wire.
ENGLISH 21 Remove the terminal block access cover on the upper back of the dryer . Install a UL-listed strain relief into the power cord opening; then thread a UL-listed, 30 A, 240 V , 3-wire, #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor power cord through the strain relief.
22 CONNECTING ELECTRIC DR YERS (cont.) Remove 3 1 ⁄ 2 inches (8.9 cm) of the outer covering from the wire. Strip 1 inch (2.5 cm) insulation from each wire.
ENGLISH T esting Dryer Heating GAS MODELS Close the dryer door , press the ON/OFF switch to turn the dryer on, and start the dryer on a heat setting. When the dryer starts, the igniter should ignite the main bur ner . NOTE: If all air is not purged from the gas line, the gas igniter may tur n off before the main burner ignites.
Y our dryer features FlowSense TM , an innovative sensing system that automatically detects blockages and restrictions in dryer ductwork. Keeping ductwork clean of lint buildup and free of restrictions allows clothes to dry faster and reduces ener gy use.
ENGLISH CONTROL P ANEL FEA TURES Following are instructions for starting and using your new dryer . Please refer to specific sections of this manual for more detailed information.
OPERA TING THE DRYER CLEAN THE LINT FIL TER If the lint filter has not already been cleaned, lift out the filter and remove the lint from the last load. This will help ensure the fastest and most efficient drying performance. 1 LOAD THE DRYER Load the dryer with the wet laundry from the washer .
ENGLISH CYCLE GUIDE Sensor Dry Cycles Sensor Dry cycles utilize LG’ s unique dual sensor system to detect and compare the moisture level in clothes and in the air and adjust the drying time as needed to ensure superior results. The dryer automatically sets the dryness level and temperature at the recommended setting for each cycle.
SORTING LOADS Fabric Care Labels Most articles of clothing feature fabric care labels that include instructions for proper care. Grouping Similar Items For best results, sort clothes into loads that can be dried with the same drying cycle. Differ ent fabrics have different care requir ements, and some fabrics will dry more quickly than others.
ENGLISH THE DISPLA Y The display shows the settings, estimated time remaining, options, and status messages for your dryer . When the dryer is tur ned on, the light in the display will illuminate.
CYCLE SETTING BUTTONS SENSOR DR Y cycles have preset settingsthat are selected automatically . MANUAL DR Y cycles have default settings, but you may also customize the settings using the cycle setting buttons. Press the appropriate button for that option to view and select other settings.
ENGLISH Make sure it is seated evenly on the edge of the inner door rim and resting flat on the inside of the dryer . NOTE: Be sure to remove the drying rack after using the RACK DRY cycle. 2 T o Install the Drying Rack 1 With the dryer door open, slide the rack into the dryer drum.
STEAM FUNCTIONS Using the Steam Options: This option injects steam late in the drying cycle to reduce the static electricity caused by dry fabrics rubbing together . Change the amount of time for the cycle by pressing the MORE TIME or LESS TIME button, depending on the load (quantity of items).
