Overview Magellan V antagePoin t™ software a llows you to view , edit and store color maps on a personal computer , with zoom and pan function s for easy map browsing. Use “Planner” to map a route for an upcoming hike or ge ocaching trip, then transfer the route to your T riton® GPS.
Inst allation Magellan V antag ePoint™ Soft ware is available from http://www .magellangps.co m/ V antagePoint/ for download. Close all applications including your web browser before starti ng installation of V ant agePoint. Follow the instructions to inst all: Click onto MVP .
Launch V ant agePoint™ The following instructions will help you launch V antagePoint™ sof tw are: 1. Y ou can laun ch this soft ware by double clicking the VP icon on your desktop OR from St artAll ProgramsMagellanV anta gePoint . When you open V ant agePoint, the following screen will appear: 2.

File Menu The File Menu allows you to open maps and othe r files or Print the map win dow’ s current display . T o open the File Menu , click on the VP icon and select one of the following: Open – Add maps or user data files to V antagePoint from your GPS unit, SD Programmer , or your PC hard drive.
The Results are listed in the Addresses t ab for addresses, in the POIs tab if POIs, and in the User Data tab if Journal items like waypoint s, routes, track, or geocaches. These ta bs are located at the bottom of Search dialog. Click on the obje ct to view it in the Map window .

GPS Sof t ware Up date s There are two wa ys to update your GPS so ft ware, autom atic update when you connect to V antagePoint or manua l update using Connect tab and "GPS Up date". For auto up date with V antagePoint, fo llow the ins tructions below : 1.
T ransfer Base Map and Detailed Map s to GPS T o connect and transfer map data in V anta gePoint, follow the instructions below: (NOTE: Base Map cannot be transferred or backed up on the eXplorist GC.) 1. Connect your GPS receiver to your PC using a USB cable and turn the receiver on.
