8 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and the batter y cartr idge is remov ed bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. Ne ver use it f or other pur poses or f or other manuf acturer ’ s batteries. • When you charge a ne w batter y car tridge or a batter y car tridge which has not been used for a long period of time, it ma y not accept a full charge.
10 Switch action CA UTION: • Bef ore inser ting the batter y car tridge into the tool, alwa ys check to see that the s witch trigger actuates properly and retur ns to the “ OFF ” position when released. T o star t the tool, simply pull the switch trigger .
11 ASSEMBL Y CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and the batter y cartr idge is remov ed bef ore carr ying out any work on the tool.
12 OPERA TION The proper fa stening torque may diff er depending upon the kind or size of the bolt, the material of the workpiece to be f astened, etc. The relation between fastening torque and f as- tening time is shown in the figures . Hold the tool firmly and place the socket o ver the bolt or nut.
13 4. The use of the universal joint or the e xtension bar some- what reduces the f astening force of the impact wrench. Compensate by f astening for a longer period of time. 5. The manner of holding the tool or the material of dr iving position to be f astened will affect the torque.
14 Recyc ling the Battery The only wa y to dispose of a Makita batter y is to recycle it. The law prohibits an y other method of disposal. T o recycle the batter y: 1.
