6 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. CA UTION: • If the tool is operated continuously at lo w speeds for a long time, the motor will get o verloaded, resulting in tool malfunction. • The speed adjusting dial can be turned only as far as 5 and back to 1.
8 Changing pad Makita off ers an extensiv e range of optional super soft and atandard equipped soft pads. Remo ve the screw counter- clockwise from the center of the base with a he x wrench. After changing the pad, tighten the screw cloc kwise securely .
9 After emptying the dust bag, inser t the hook on the dust noz- zle into the rectangular hole on one side of the dust bag frame and push up the dust bag frame until it clic ks into place on the push button. Installing paper dust bag (optional accessory) Place the paper dust bag on the paper dust bag holder with its front side upward.
10 Inser t the notch of the paper dust bag into the guide of the paper dust bag holder . Then install the paper dust bag holder set on the tool. OPERA TION Sanding operation CA UTION: • Ne ver s witch on the tool when it is in contact with the workpiece, it ma y cause an injur y to operator .
11 • Ne ver f orce the tool. Excessive pressure ma y decrease the polishing efficiency and cause motor ov erload, resulting in tool malfunction. Applying wax Use an optional sponge pad. Apply wax to the sponge pad or work surface . Run the tool to smooth out wax.
