ENGLISH 2 Playing CD-RW discs This unit can play back the CD-RW (ReW ritable) discs as well as ordinary music CD and CD-R (Recor dable) discs. • The CD-R and CD-RW discs should contain pr operly- recor ded TOC infor mation so that they can be played back.
ENGLISH 3 Compact discs The glossy side shining like a rainbow is the front side of the disc, and the side on which the label is printed is the back. Unlike conventional turntables for playing analog discs, the SA8260 Super Audio CD Player reads the information recor ded on the disc from underneath without contacting it using a beam of laser light.
ENGLISH 4 Loading batteries Batteries in this remote contr ol unit have a life of approximately 1 year under normal operating conditions. If the remote control unit is not going to be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries. Also, if you notice that the batteries ar e starting to run down, replace them as soon as possible.

ENGLISH 7 CONNECTIONS (Connecting to audio components – Analog/Digital) Depending on your amplifier/receiver/Ster eo System, there are various ways to connect to this player . For correct connection please refer to instruction manuals of ster eo system to be connected.
ENGLISH 8 Connecting to an analog multi-channel amplifier/A V receiver This unit can play multi-channel r ecorded SACD discs. For multi-channel play , select “MUL TI” with SOUND MODE button on the unit or remote. 1. Connect the audio cable q to this unit’ s fr ont speaker outputs and corresponding inputs on your amplifier/r eceiver .
ENGLISH 9 The Speaker Setting of SACD for Multi-Channel Audio We r ecommend you to use ITU (International T elecommunication Union) speaker setting because SACD multi-channel discs are recor ded and mixed down to hear the best quality sound when this setting ar e used.
ENGLISH 10 ★ In this instruction manual, some operations can only be perfor med with the remote contr ol. For operations that can be perfor med with buttons both on the main unit and on the remote contr ol, the button names are shown in the mark.
ENGLISH 11 T o start playback form the first track Press PLAY button. T o stop playback Press STOP button. T o eject disc Press OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray and take the disc off. Pr ess the button again to close the tray . Disc tray must be closed when the unit is not be used.
ENGLISH 12 Search/Skip ■ Direct Search (Specify track number to play) Specify track number with NUMBER buttons (0-9) 3rd track : Press 3 . 12th track : P r e s s 1 and then pr ess 2 (within approximately 1.5 seconds). If the first pressed number is only in the digit of ones and not in the digit of tens, search begins appr oximately 0.
ENGLISH 13 Random Play When RANDOM button is pressed, the unit shuffles track order and plays all the tracks in the shuf fled or der . It can be done in both playback and stop modes. • The gap between tracks will be appr oximately 4 seconds during random play .
ENGLISH 14 T o Check Programmed T racks Press SCROLL/RECALL button while programming or program play (when “PROG” indicator is flashing or lights).
ENGLISH 15 About TEXT Information Display The following items of text information in a disc with text can be displayed by pressing TEXT button. Never theless, which items of information are r ecor ded depends on discs so some infor mation may not be displayed.
ENGLISH 16 T imer Play This unit can perform timer play by cooperating with your audio timer . Connect this unit’ s power cord to the audio timer’ s power socket and the timer’ s power cord to power outlet. * For connection to audio timer and it’ s operation, please refer to the instruction manual of your audio timer .
ENGLISH 17 If you think a malfunction has occurred, first check the points listed below , The problem is likely to have been caused by a simple operational error or a connection pr oblem.
