IMPOR T ANT SAFETY INSTRUCT IONS To reduce the risk of re, electric shock, or injury to persons when using the dryer, follow basic precautions, including the following: WARNING: ■ Read all instructions before using the dryer. ■ Do not place items exposed to cooking oils in your dryer.

See “V enting Requirements. ” Installation spacing for recesse d ar ea or closet installation T he following spacing dimensions are recommended for this dryer .
6 ■ A 4-wire power supply connection must be us ed when the appliance is installed in a location where grounding through the neutral conductor is prohibited.
7 Electrical Connection P ow er Supply Cord W ARNIN G Fire Hazar d Use a new UL liste d 3 0 amp power supply cor d . Use a UL liste d strain relief. Disconnect power b efore making electrical connections. Neutral wire (white or center wir e) must b e connecte d to center silver terminal.
8 ■ Put power supply cord through the strain relief. Be sure that the wire insulation on the power supply cord is inside the strain relie f. T he strain relief should hav e a tight fit with the dryer cabinet and be in a horizont al position. Do not further tighten strain relief screws at this point.

10 4-wire connection: Direct W ire IMPORT ANT : A 4-wire connection is required for mo bile homes and where local codes do not permit the use of 3-wire connections. Direct wire cable must have 5 ft (1.52 m) of extra length so dry er can be moved if needed.
11 4. Place the hooked ends of the other po wer su pply cable wi res under the outer terminal block screws (hooks facing right). Squeeze hooked ends together . T ighten screws. 5. T ighten strain relief screws. 6. Insert tab of term inal bloc k cover into slot of dry er rear panel.
12 When connecting to the terminal block, place the hooked end of the wire under the screw of the terminal block (hook facing right), squeeze hooked end together and tighten screw , as shown. 1. Loosen or remov e center silver -co lored terminal block screw .
13 4. T ighten strain relief screws. 5. Insert tab of terminal bloc k cover into slot of dry er rear panel. Secure cover with hold- down screw . 6. Connect a separate copper ground wire from the external ground conductor screw to an adequate ground. V enting Requir ements W ARNING Fire Hazard Use a heavy metal vent.

16 Install Lev eling Legs W ARNING Excessive Weight Hazard Use two or more people to move and install dryer. Failure to do so can result in back or other injury. 1. T o protect the floor , use a large, flat pi ece of cardboard from the dryer carton. Place cardboard under the entire back side of the dry er .
17 7. Attach door hinges to dryer door so that the la rger hole is at the botto m of the hinge. 8. R emove door strike (E) from cabinet. Use a small, flat-blade screwdriver to gentl y remove 4 hinge hole plugs (F) on left side of cabinet. In sert plugs into hinge ho les on right side of cabinet.
18 DR YER USE Starting Y our Dr yer W ARNING Explosion Hazard Keep ammable materials and vapors, such as g asoline, away from dryer. Do not dry anythin g that has ever had anythin g ammable on it (even after washin g ). Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, explosion, or re.
19 T o restart y our dry e r 1. Close the door . 2. Select a new cycle and temperature (if desired). 3. Pus h the ST ART button. Dr ying Rack Option Use the Drying Rack to dry items suc h as sweaters and pillows withou t tumbling. T he drum turns, but the drying rac k does not move.
20 3. W et a nylon brush with hot water and liquid dete rgent. Scrub lint scr een with the brush to remov e residue buildup. 4. Ri nse screen with hot w ater . 5. T horoughly dry lint screen with a cl ean to wel. Replace screen in dryer . Cleaning the Dr y er Interior 1.

22 ■ Is the exhaust vent diameter the corr ect size? Use 4" (102 mm) diameter vent material. ■ Is the dry er located in a room with temper ature below 45ºF (7ºC)? Proper operation of dryer c ycles re quires temperatures abov e 45ºF (7ºC).
