GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 6 – English Important P ersonal protective equipment HEARING PRO TECTION Wear hearing protection that provides adequate noise reduction. EYE PRO TECTION Alwa ys wear approved e ye protection. If you use a visor then you must also w ear approved protectiv e goggles.

GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS 8 – English Stop switch Use the stop switch to s witch off the engine. Star t the engine and make sure the engine stops when you mov e the stop switch to the stop setting. The stop switch automatically returns to the start position.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECA UTIONS English – 9 If the muffler on your machine is fitted with a spark arrestor mesh this must be cleaned regularly . A b locked mesh will cause the engine to ov erheat and may lead to serious damage. Blade and blade guar d The outer par t of the blades (1) are shaped as b lade guards.
FUEL HANDLING 10 – English Fuel safety Nev er star t the machine: 1 If y ou have spilt fuel on it. Wipe off the spillage and allow remaining fuel to e vaporate. 2 If y ou have spilt fuel on y ourself or your clothes, change your clothes. W ash any par t of your body that has come in contact with fuel.
FUEL HANDLING English – 11 Mixing • Alwa ys mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. • Alwa ys star t by filling half the amount of the petrol to be used. Then add the entire amount of oil. Mix (shake) the fuel mixture. Add the remaining amount of petrol.
ST ARTING AND ST OPPING 12 – English Check bef ore star ting • Inspect the working area. Remove an y objects that could be thrown out. • Check the cutting attachment. Ne ver use blades that are dull, crack ed or damaged. • Check that the machine is in perf ect working order.
ST ARTING AND ST OPPING English – 13 (4, 5) Push the choke control bac k to its or iginal position as soon as the engine fires, and continue trying to star t until the engine star ts.
WORKING TECHNIQ UES 14 – English General working instructions Safety instructions regar ding the surroundings • Nev er allow children to use the machine. • Observe your surroundings and make sure that there is no risk of people or animals coming into contact with the cutting equipment.
WORKING TECHNIQ UES English – 15 • If anything jams in the blades while y ou are working, switch off the engine and w ait until it has stopped completely before cleaning the b lades. Disconnect the HT lead from the spark plug. If the blades get stuc k, they can be loosened by sticking the combination spanner into the gear housing.
MAINTENANCE 16 – English Carburettor Adjustment of the idle speed Before an y adjustments are made, make sure that the air filter is clean and the air filter cov er is fitted. Mak e sure the star t throttle position is disengaged. Adjust the idle speed using the idle adjustment screw T , if it is necessary to readjust.
MAINTENANCE English – 17 If the machine is low on pow er, difficult to start or runs poorly at idle speed: alw ays check the spark plug first before taking an y fur ther action. If the spar k plug is dir ty , clean it and check that the electrode gap is 0,5 mm.
MAINTENANCE 18 – English Cleaning and lubrication Clean any resin and plant residue from the blades using cleaning agent 531 00 75-13 (UL22) before and after using the machine. Check that the b lade edges are not damaged or deformed. File awa y any burrs .
