5 S Mix and pour fuel i n an outdoor area on bare ground; s tore f uel in a cool , dry, well venti - lated plac e; and us e an approv ed, mark ed conta iner for all fuel pur pose s. Wipe up all fuel s pills before s tar ting s aw . S M ove at least 10 feet (3 meters ) from fuel- ing site bef ore s tarting engine.

A fir m gr ip will help y ou r educe k ic k - back and maintain c ontro l of the saw. K eep the fingers of your le ft hand enc irc ling and your left thumb under t he front handlebar .

9 mixed w ith a good q uality 2-c yc le air -c ooled engine oil des igned to be mixed at a ratio of 40:1. A 40: 1 r atio is obtained by mix ing 0,125 liter of oil w ith 5 lite rs o f unleaded gas oline. DO NO T US E automotiv e or b oat oil. These oils will c aus e engine damage.
10 DIFFICUL T STARTI NG (or start ing a flooded engine) The engine may be flooded w ith too muc h fuel if it has not s tarted aft er 10 pulls. Flooded engines c an be clear ed of ex c ess fuel by pus hing the chok e/fas t idle lever in completely (to the OFF C HO KE position) and then following t he warm engine star ting proc edure listed abov e.
11 Natural c onditions that can c aus e a tree to fall in a partic ular dir ection inc lude: S The wind direc tion and s peed. S The lean of the t ree. The lean of a tree might not be apparent due to unev en or sloping terr ain. U s e a plumb or lev el to de- termine the direc tion of tree lean.
12 Overcut ting begins on the top s ide of the log with the saw agains t the log. W hen overc ut- ting use light downw ard pres s ure. Overcutting Un de rc utti ng Undercutti ng involv es cutting on the under- side of t he log with top of saw agains t the log.
13 S Ma ke your fi st cut 1/3 of the w ay thr ough the bottom of the limb. S Ne xt ma ke a 2n d cut all the way t hrough the limb . Then c ut a third over cut leav ing a 3 to 5 cm c ollar fr om the trunk of the t ree.
14 Replac e guide bar when the groove is wor n, the guide bar is bent or c rac ked, or when exc es s heating or burring of the rails occ urs . If replac ement is n eces s ary, use only t he guide bar specified for your saw in the re pair parts list or on the decal loc ated on the c hain s aw.
