15 of 38 5.3. Shor t Description of the Home Screen The home screen is display ed when your tablet has finished booting and there are no other applications in the foreg round. It is divided into several pages that you can access by swiping y our finger to the left or right.
16 of 38 Icon Description This icon display s a list of all applications on your tablet PC. T ap on an application to start it. Keep your finger on an application to cre- ate a shortcut to the application on the home screen (drag the appli- cation to the corresponding page) or t o uninstall it (drag the appli- cation to the waste basket).

18 of 38 6.2. Battery Opera tion Batteries store electrical energy in their cells and then deliv er it when needed. The useful life and performance of your battery will depend on careful handling .
19 of 38 7.3. Setting the T ablet into Standby Mode T o optimise the batter y operating time, the tablet switches to ener gy saving mode whenever it isn ’t being used. In sleep mode, your device will be placed int o a low- energy standby mode with the display turned off in order to sa ve battery power .
20 of 38 7.4.1. Adjusting Screen L ock Pattern Settings Y ou can adjust the screen lock pattern settings under Settings > Security > Screen lock. 8. Operating the T ablet Y ou operate your tablet with your fingertips. Do not use any pointed or sharp- edged objects.
