32 Getting Started 1.2 Installing the SIM Card and Battery Always turn off your devic e before installing/replacing the SIM card and battery. Y our device contains a rechargeable Li-ion polymer battery . I t is designed to use only manufacturer-specified original batteries and accessories.

After inser ting the SIM card, push back the SIM card la tch to secure the SIM card in place. 5 T o install the battery Install the battery by inser ting it with its exposed copper part aligned with the protruding copper conductor on the upper right side of the battery compartment.

Getting Started 35 1.3 Installing a Storage Car d There is a storage car d slot at the left panel of your device. T o have additional storage for y our images, videos, music, and files, you can purchase a microSD TM card and insert it into the slot. T o inser t a microSD card 1.
36 Getting Started 1.4 Star ting Up After inserting your SIM card and battery and charging the battery, you can now power on and start using your device.
Getting Started 37 If your device does not accurately r espond to screen taps, follow these st eps to re-calibrate it: 1. T ap Start > Settings > System tab > Screen . 2. On the General tab, tap Align Screen , then f ollow the on-screen instructions to complete the calibration.

64 Using Phone F eatures 3.1 Using the Phone Like a standard mobile phone, y ou can use your device to make, receiv e, and keep track of calls and send messages. Y ou can also dial directly from Contacts, and easily cop y phonebook entries from your SIM card to Contacts on your device.

T o check who the caller is: • T ap the icon , then tap View ; or • On the Phone screen, tap Call History . Y ou can view missed calls as well as incoming and outgoing calls in Call History .
70 Using Phone F eatures T o mute a call Y ou can turn off the microphone during a call, so that you can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear you. • During a call, tap Mute . • When the microphone is turned off , the mute icon ( ) appears on the screen.
