GB - 8 Only trained adults may operate unit. T raining includes being familiar with controls and actual operation. NEVER operate unit after or during the use of medication, drugs or alcohol. NEVER allow any one to operate this unit when their alertness or coordination is impaired.
GB - 9 AL WA YS turn off power to attachment and shut off f uel when transporting unit. Keep unit free of grass clippings, leaves, and other debris. Clean up oil or fuel spills.

GB - 12 Ignition Sw itch Operate ignition switch with a rem ovable key . Ignition switch has four positions: St op (1), Headlight (2), Run (3), S t art (4). See STARTI NG AND SHUTTING OFF ENGIN E on page 14 for detailed instructions on how to start engine.
GB - 13 Mower Lif t Pedal (F igure 5) Raises and lowers mower deck. NOTE: The adjustment pin is used to set the height of the m ower deck. See SPECIF ICATIONS on page 29 for cutting height dimensions. Press mower lift pedal and inst all adjustment pin in the desired adjust ment hole.
GB - 14 FILLING FUEL T ANKS 1. Clean fuel caps and surrounding area to prevent dust, dirt, and debris from entering fuel tanks. 2. Remove fuel caps. IMPORTANT: See Engine Manual for corr ect type and grade of f uel. 3. Fill fuel t anks to 2-1/2 in. (6.

GB - 16 IMPORTANT: Proper m aintenance can prolong the life of unit. The following chart shows the re commended service s chedule. Refer to the maintenan ce instructions in the Engine Manual for additional information.
GB - 17 TIPPING SEA T FORW ARD Remove clamping knob (915065, 067, 055, 057, 059) or flat washer and nut (915501, 502) and tip se at forward to ac cess the battery and engine. NOTE: Models 915501 and 5 02 must use the flat washer and nut t o secure the seat t o the unit.
GB - 18 OPENING AND CLOSING HOOD T o open, pull up on the front of the hood to open and push down on top of hood to close until hood snaps into hood c lip s (figure 10 ). REMOVING MOWER DECK Remove (Figure 1 1) 1. Remove PTO belt from electric cl utch (see REPLAC ING PTO BELT on page 24).
GB - 19 LEVELLING AND ADJUSTING PITCH OF MOWER DECK Adjust on a level surface, with the t ires inflated to the co rrect air pressure (see SPECIF ICATIONS on page 29). Level M ower Deck 1. Install adjustment pin in the fourth adjustment hole (figure 12).
GB - 20 7. Check that the mower deck is level: a. Rotate right and left mower blades to face side-to-side. b. Measure outer edge of mower blades to ground. Measur ement must be within 1/4 inch (6.35 mm). • If mower dec k is not level, repeat steps 5 and 6.
GB - 21 Do not chang e angle of cutting edge or round the corner at t he end of mower blade. 2. Sharpen mower blade by removing a n equal amount of m aterial from each end of mower blade. 3. Check mower blade balance by sliding mower blade on an unthreaded bolt.

GB - 24 Forw ard a nd Reve rse Sp eed Adjustment (Figure 20) IMPORTANT: The unit should track within 2 feet (0.61 m) of a straight line for 30 feet (9.14 m). The travel of the steering levers may need adjustment if: • The unit turns to the right or left when both steering levers are pushed as far forward as possible.
GB - 25 REPLACING HYDROST A TIC BEL T Remove (Fi gure 22) 1. Remove PTO belt (see REPLA CING PTO BELT on page 24). 2. Disconnect electric clutch connector . 3. Remove clut ch stop. 4. Disconnect idler spring. 5. Remove hyd rostatic belt from hydrostatic transmission pulleys, pulley , electric clutch, and idler .
