W arning and Safety instructions 5 Correct application This ho b is intended for domestic use and use in other similar en‐ vironments. This ho b is not intended for outdoor use. It is intended for domestic use only t o cook food and keep it warm.
W arning and Safety instructions 6 Safety with children Chil dren under 8 years of age must be k ept away from the hob unless they are constantly supervised.
W arning and Safety instructions 7 T echnical safety Unauth orised installation, maintenance and r epairs can cause consider able danger for the user . Installation, maintenance and r e‐ pairs must only be carried out by a Miele authorised technician.
W arning and Safety instructions 8 Miele can only guar antee the safety of the appliance when genu‐ ine original Miele replacement parts ar e used. F aulty components must only be replaced by Miele spar e parts. The ho b is not intended for use with an e xternal timer switch or a remot e control syst em.
W arning and Safety instructions 9 Correct use The ho b gets hot when in use and remains hot for a while aft er being switched off. There is a danger of burning until the r esidual heat indicators go out. Due t o the high temper atures r adiated, objects left near the hob when it is in use could catch fire.
W arning and Safety instructions 10 Y ou could burn yourself on the hot hob. Pr otect your hands with heat-resistant pot holders or gloves when handling hot pots and pans. Do not let them get wet or damp, as this causes heat to tr ans‐ fer through the mat erial more quickly with the risk of scalding or burning yourself.
W arning and Safety instructions 11 Induction hea ting works extr emely quickly and so the base of the pan could heat up to the t emperatur e at which oil or fat self-ignites within a very short time. Do not leave the hob unattended whilst it is being used.
W arning and Safety instructions 12 Cleaning and care Do not use a st eam cleaning appliance to clean this hob. The steam could r each electrical components and cause a short cir‐ cuit.
Caring for the envir onment 13 Disposal of the packing mate‐ rial The packaging is designed to pr otect the appliance fr om damage during transportation. The packaging mat erials used are select ed from materials which are envir onmentally friendly for disposal and should be recycled.

Before using for the first time 20 Please stick the extr a data plate for the appliance supplied with this doc‐ umentation in the space provided in the "After sales service, data plate, guarant ee" section of this booklet. Remo ve any prot ective wrapping and stickers.
Induction 21 The induction principle An induction coil is located under each cooking zone. When a cooking zone is switche d on, this coil creat es a magnet‐ ic field which impacts directly on the base of the pan and heats it up. The cooking zone itself is heated up indi‐ rectly by the heat given off by the pan.
Induction 22 Noises When using an induction cooking zone, the following noises can occur in the pan, depending on what it is made of and how it has been construc ted. On the higher power settings, it might buzz. This will decr ease or cease alto‐ gether when the power setting is re‐ duced.
Induction 23 P ans The following pan types are suitable : – Stainless steel with a base that can be magnetised, – enamelled steel, – cast iron. The following pan types are not suita‐ ble : – Stainless steel pans without a mag‐ netic base, – aluminium and copper pans, – glass, ceramic or earthenwar e pots and pans.
T ips on saving ener gy 24 – Use a lid whenever possible to mini‐ mise heat loss. – Select a smaller pan when cooking small quantities. A smaller pan uses less ene rgy than a lar ger pan with very little in it. – Cook with as little water as possible.

Operation 26 How the hob is operat ed The glass ceramic hob is equipped with elec tronic sensor contr ols which react to finger contact. F or safety r easons, in order t o switch the hob on, the On/ Off sensor needs to be t ouched for a little longer than the other sensors.
Operation 27 Fir e hazard. Do not leave the hob unattended whilst it is being used. Plea se note that the heating up time on induction hobs is very much shorter than on conventional hobs. Switching on T ouch the sensor . will appear in each of the cooking zone displays.
Operation 28 P owerFlex cooking area The P owerFlex cooking zones can be combine d to form a P owerFle x cooking area (see "Guide t o the appliance - Hob"). Settings for the linked cooking area ar e controlled by the fr ont or the left P owerFlex cooking zone (depending on model).
Operation 29 Auto heat-up When Auto heat-up has been activated, the coo king zone switches on automati‐ cally at the highest power setting and then switches to the continued cooking setting. The heat-up time depends on which continued cooking setting has been chosen (see chart).
Operation 30 Booster The cooking zones are equipped with a Boost er or T winBooster (see "Guide to the appliance – Hob"). Y ou can use the booster function for a maximum of two cooking zones at the same time. When activated, the power is boosted for a maximum o f 15 minutes so that large quantities can be heat ed quickly, e.
Operation 31 T o switch on the Booster T ouch the 9 sensor for the cooking zone you wish to use twice. will appear in the cooking zone dis‐ play . T o switch on the T winBooster , level 1 T ouch the 9 sensor for the cooking zone you wish to use twice.
Operation 32 K eeping warm The keeping warm function is for k eeping food that has just been cooked warm, i.e. food that is still hot. It is not for reheating food that has gone cold. If the keeping warm function has been activated, the cooking zone will switch off automatically after a maximum of 2 hours.
T imer 33 Y ou can select a time up to a maxi‐ mum of 99 minu tes. The timer can be used for two different functions: – to set the minute minder – to set a cooking zone to switch off aut omatically . Minute minder Setting T ouch the sensor .
T imer 34 Using both timer functions at the same time The minute minder and automatic switch-off functions can be used at the same time. If you have progr ammed in one or more switch-o ff times, and would like to use the minute minder as well: T ouch the sensor repeat edly un‐ til and appear in the timer dis‐ play .
Additional functions 35 Stop&Go When Stop&Go is activat ed, the power of all co oking zones in use is reduced to power level 1. The cooking zone power levels and the timer settings cannot be alter ed and the hob can only be switched off.
Safety features 36 System lock The system lock is deactivated if ther e is an interruption to the power supply . Y our hob is equipped with a system lock to pr event it being switched on by mistake. If an unavailable sensor is touched whilst the syst em lock is activated will appear in the timer display for a few seconds.
Safety features 37 Safety switch-off Safety switch-off with an overlong cooking time The safety switch-off mechanism is trigg ered aut omatically if one of the cooking zones is heated for an unusual‐ ly long period of time. This period of time depends on the power level selec‐ ted.
Safety features 38 Overheating protection All the induction coils and cooling ele‐ ments for the elec tronics ar e fitted with an overheating prot ection mechanism.
Cleaning and care 39 Danger of burning. The cooking zones must be switch‐ ed off. The hob must have cooled down. Danger of inj ury . The steam fr om a steam cleaning appliance could reach electrical components and cause a short cir‐ cuit. Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the hob.
Cleaning and care 40 Do not clean the area between the glass-ceramic surface and the fr ame or the frame and the workt op with sharp, pointed objects. This could damage to the seals. Do not use washing-up liquid to clean the appliance as washing-up li quid will not remove all soiling and deposits.
Pr oblem solving guide 41 With the aid of the following guide, minor problems can be easily corr ected with‐ out contacting Miele. If having foll owed the suggestions below, you still cannot r esolve the problem, please contact Miele (see end of this booklet for contact details).

Safety instructions for installation 47 The appliance must on ly be installed and connected to the electricity sup‐ ply by a suitably qualified and competent person in strict accor dance with cur‐ rent national and local safety r egulations. Fit the wall units and cooker hood before fitting the hob t o avoid damaging the hob.
Safety distances 48 Safety distance above the hob A minimum safety distance must be maintained between the appliance and the coo ker hood above it. See the cooker hood manufacturer's oper ating and installation instructions for details.
Safety distances 49 Safety distances to the sides and back of the hob Ideally the hob should be installed with plenty of space on eithe r side. There may be a wall at the rear or a tall unit or wall on one side (right or left) (see illus‐ trations).
Safety distances 50 Minimum safety distances un‐ derneath the hob T o ensure sufficient ventilation t o the hob, a cer tain gap must be left between the underside of the hob and any oven, interim shelf or dr awer . The minimum gap between the under‐ side of the hob and – the top of an oven is 15 mm .
