GB - 6 DO NOT operate on steep slopes. D O NOT c lear snow across the face o f slopes . Keep all move ment on slopes s low and gr adual. DO NO T make s udden change s in spe ed or dir ection. Use a slo w speed to avoid stops or shifts on slop es. Avoid sta rting or stoppi ng on a slope.

GB - 10 CONTROLS AND FEA TURES See F igure 7 for all Control s and Featur es locati ons. Dual Handle Interlock When A ttachment Clutch and then T raction Dr ive Clutch are engag ed, the Attach ment Cl utch will r emain engaged (lever do wn) if released.

GB - 12 Scraper Blade The s craper bl ade allows the back of the hou sing to keep be tter contact with the s urface be ing clear ed. It also p revents damage to the h ousing fr om norm al wear . IMPORT ANT : DO NOT al low Scr aper Blade to wear too fa r or Auger /Impelle r housi ng will be come damaged .
GB - 13 T O STOP IN AN EMERGENCY Imme diately r elease both contro l leve rs to stop unit in an em ergency . Stop engine, r emove key and wait for all r otating parts to stop before le aving op erator ’s position. ST ARTING AND SHUT OFF IMPORT ANT : Allo w unit and engine to adjust to the out door t empe ratur e befo re cl ea ring snow .
GB - 14 T o clear an area , run unit in an o verlappin g serie s of paths. For l arge areas , start in the mi ddle and throw snow to each sid e, so snow is not cle ared mor e than once. AL W A YS direct snow away fro m area to be cleared and with dir ection of th e wind.

GB - 17 SPEE D SELECTOR ADJUSTMENT T o ad just (F igure 1 8): 1. Disconnec t adjus tment pivo t pin fro m speed selec tor arm . Save har dware fo r reins tallation. 2. Pl ace t he spe e d sel ector on dash pane l in th e fast est forwa rd speed position .
GB - 18 7. Remove hex bolts s ecuring h ousing to frame ( two on ea ch side ). T ip h ousing a nd frame a part on pivo t pin. 8. Remove attachment dr ive belt from lowe r pulley (hold brake away from bel t). Replace Att achment Drive Belt 1. Place new belt on to lower pul ley .
GB - 19 NOTE: T o gain b elt clear ance , remove swin g gate spacer (Fig ure 2 2) so driv e pla te can be s lid ove r until finger is out of frame and drive p late can swing past stop ho le in f rame.
GB - 20 4. T ighte n jam nut o n cable a djustment ba rrel. Check Att achment Idler Arm Roller Clearance 1. Place the unit i nto the ser vice pos ition. Rem ove the botto m cover . 2. With th e clut ch lever enga ged, chec k the clearanc e betw een the fr ame an d plastic roller on the lowe r end of th e attachmen t idler arm.
GB - 21 Check Att achment Brake (Figure 29) 1. With the clutch le ver diseng aged, br ake pad must contact attach ment belt. W ith clu tch lever engaged , brake pad m ust be mor e than 1/1 6 in. (1.6 mm ) from bel t. If there i s more than 1/16 in. (1.
GB - 22 T o ad just tra ction clutc h (Fig ure 32 ): 1. With th e tractio n drive c lutch lev er diseng aged, loosen the jam nu t on the cable ad juste r . T urn adj ustment ba rrel up the cable to decrease the dis tance between cl utch lev er and han dlebar .
