EN-13 ENGLISH How to determine the position of th e pr ojector for a given screen size 1. Determine the aspect ratio of your screen, 16:9 or 4:3. If you have a 4: 3 screen, refer to the table labeled "(Standard)" . If you have a 16:9 screen, refer to the table labeled "(16:9)" .

EN-16 Connection When connecting a signal source to the projector , be sure to: 1. T urn all equipment of f be fore making any connections. 2. Use the correct signal cables for each source. 3. Ensure the cables are firmly inserted. • See the owner ’s guide of each device for details about its connections.
EN-17 ENGLISH Connecting a monitor If you want to view your presentation close-up on a m onitor as well as on the screen, you can connect the MONITOR OUT signal output jack on the projector to an exte rnal monitor following the instructions below: T o connect the proj ector to a monitor: 1.
EN-18 Connecting an HDMI device Y ou should use an HDMI cable when making conn ection between the proj ector and HDMI devices. T o connect the projector to an HDMI device: 1. T a ke an HDMI cable and conne ct one end to the HDMI output port of the video device.
EN-19 ENGLISH The final connection path should be like that shown in th e following diagram: If the selected video image is not displayed af ter the projector is turned on and the correct video source has been selected, check that the Video source device is turned on and operating correctly .
EN-20 Connecting a composite V ideo source device Examine your V ideo source device to determine if it ha s a set of unused composite V ideo output sockets available: • If so, you can continue with this p rocedure. • If not, you will need to reas sess which method you can use to connect to the device.
EN-21 ENGLISH Operation S tarting up the pr ojector 1. Plug the power cord into the projector and into a wall socket. Turn on the wall socket switch (where fitted). Check that the POWER indicator light on the projector lights orange after power has been applied.
EN-22 Using the menus The projector is equipped with On-S creen Display (OSD) menus for making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overvie w of the OSD menu. Below is an example about how to set the OSD language. 1. Press MENU/EXIT on the projector or remote control to turn the OSD menu on.
EN-23 ENGLISH Utilizing the password function For security purposes and to help prevent unauthorized us e, t he projector in cludes an option for setting up password security . The password can be set through the On-Scree n Display (OSD) menu. For details of the OSD menu operation, please refer to "Using the menus" on page 22 .

EN-25 ENGLISH Adjusting the projected image Adjusting the projection angle The projector is equipped with 1 quick- rel ease adjuster foot and 1 rear adjuster foot. These adjusters cha nge the image height and projection angle. T o adjust the projector: 1.
EN-26 Corr ecting keystone Keystoning refers to the situation where the projected image is notic eably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not pe rpendicular to the screen. T o correct this, besides adjusting the he ight of the projector , you will need to manually correct it following on e of these ste ps.
EN-27 ENGLISH Selecting the aspect ratio The 'aspect rati o' is the ratio of the image width to the image height. Most an alog TV and computers are in 4:3 ratio, and digital TV and DVDs ar e usually in 16:9 ratio.

EN-29 ENGLISH Optimizing the image Selecting a pictur e mode The projector is preset wi th several predefined picture modes so that you can choose one to suit your ope rating environment and i nput signal picture type. T o select a operation mode that su its your need, you can follow one of the following steps.
EN-30 Fine-tuning the image quality in user modes According to the detected signal type, there are some user-def inable f unctions available when User 1 or User 2 mode is selected.
EN-31 ENGLISH 3D Color Management In most installa tion situations, color manage ment will not be necessary , such as in classroom, meeting room, or lounge room situations where lights remain on, or where building external windows allow daylight into the room.
EN-32 Setting the pr esentation timer The presentation time r can i ndicate the presentation time on the screen to help you achieve better time management wh en giving presentations.
EN-33 ENGLISH Hiding the image In order to draw the audience's full attention to the presenter , you can use BLANK on the projector or remote control to hide the screen image . Press any key on the projector or remote control to restore the image.
EN-34 1. Repeat steps 1-2 above. 2. Press to highlight Volume and press / to select a desired sound level. Standby Audio Out Selecting On enables the function. The projector can output an Audio input signal when it is in standby mode and Audio input and Audio out jack is co rrectly connected to devices.
EN-35 ENGLISH 3D W atching 3D Conten t Y ou can enjoy 3D Conten t with this pro jector . In order to watch 3D Content, you need to have the following items: 1. Field-seque ntial 3D video contents 2. DLP Link active ele ctr onic shutter glasses (Field-sequential: The system which displays alte rn ately t he image fo r the left eye and the right eye.
EN-36 • 3D image may not appear on the screen depending on the PC performance such as graphics board, memory , or CPU. • The signals in the below tabl e can be displayed with viewing 3D Contents on the projector . If a different signal is fed, the projector shows no 3D content s even with the 3D option set to On in the DISPLAY menu.
EN-37 ENGLISH Supervising and controlling by computer W ith a proper LAN cable connection a nd LAN Control settings, you can operate the projector from a computer using a web browser or PJLink™ application wh e n the computer and the proje ctor are con nected to th e same loca l area network.
EN-38 Contr olling the pr ojector r e mo tely thr ough a web browser (e-Contr ol™) Once you have the correct IP address for the projector and the projector is on or in st andby state, you can use any computer that is on the sam e local area network to control the proje ctor .

T o enable this function, check the box in front of "Enable" and type in your desired password in the New Password column and confirm the new passw ord by re-entering the new password at the Confirm column.

EN-48 Maintenance Car e of the projector Y our projector needs little maintenance. The only thing you need to do on a regul ar basis is to keep the lens clean. Never remove any parts of the projec tor except the lamp. Contact your deal er if other parts need replacing .
EN-49 ENGLISH Lamp information Getting to know the lamp hour When the projector is in operation, the duration (in hours) of lamp usage is automatica lly calculated by the built-in timer .
EN-50 Timing of r eplacing the lamp When the lamp indicator lights up red or a message appears suggesting it is time to replace th e lamp, please install a new lamp or consult your dealer . An ol d lamp may cause a malfunction in the projector and in some instances the lamp may explode.
