EN-11 ENGLISH Basic connections This projector can be connected with v arious devices such as a VCR, video camera, videodisc pla yer , and personal computer that hav e analog RGB output connectors . Importan t: • Make sure that the connected device is turned off bef ore starting connection.
EN-12 Basic connections (continued) Projector + Computer For computer with Mini D-SUB or DVI-D For analog connection: 1. Connect one end of the supplied RGB cab le to the COMPUTER-IN terminal (1, 2) of the projector . 2. Connect the other end of the RGB cab le to the monitor por t of the computer .

The lamp may dete riorate if the projector is pow ered off and on repeatedly within 30 minu tes after the lamp is lighted. 1. Y ou can select from BEIGE, LIGHT BLUE, LIGHT GREEN, PI NK, BLACK BO ARD , WHITE BOARD , and OFF , to match the color of the screen or w all to be used for projection.

EN-19 ENGLISH Menu operation (contin ued) 2. INST ALLA TION menu • By defa ult, the LAMP MODE is set to ST ANDARD . The LAMP MODE is set to eit her ST ANDARD or LO W depending on the setting last sel ected, and you ca nnot switch the LAMP MODE in about one minute after the lamp is on .

EN-22 Image adjustment Adjusting pr ojected images T o adjust the brightness (CONT RAST and BRIGHT- NESS): Y ou can make adjustments of the brightness of the projected image using the men u. (See page 18 f or the menu options .) 1. Displa y the IMAGE men u.
EN-23 ENGLISH Image adjustment (continued) BrilliantColor TM Use this setting to make color s with medium brightness, such as yel- low and the skin tone a ppear natural. Press t he W button to d ecrease the value to lessen th e effect. Press the X b utton to increase th e value to heighten the effect.
EN-24 Adv anced features Displaying a user-defined image during startup or mut- ing Y ou can display your desired image as the star tup screen (or splash screen). Using the menu, y ou can also use it as the backg round that is display ed while the video is muted or no signal is input.

EN-26 Lamp replacement This projector is equipped with a lamp to project images. This lamp is a consumable . It may b ur n out or its brightness ma y decrease dur ing use. In such cases, replace the lamp with a ne w one as soon as possi- ble . Be sure to replace the lamp with a new lamp separ ately sold that is exclusiv e to this projector .
EN-27 ENGLISH Lamp replacement (continued) 4. Pull up the handle (g), and t hen pull out the la mp unit (h) b y the handle. 5. Remov e the lamp attachment unit. • Pull the lamp unit out of the proj ector slowly . If it is pulled out quickly , the lamp may bre ak, scattering glass fragments.
