5 SECTION 2: ASSEMBLING YOUR EDGER IMPORT ANT: This unit is shipped WITHOUT GASOLINE or OI L. After setting up the unit, service engine with gasoline and oil as instr ucted in the separate engine manual packed with your unit. NOTE: Reference to right or left hand sid e of t he e dger is observed from the opera ting position.
6 SECTION 3: KNOW YOUR EDGER Figure 4 WARNING: Be familiar wi th all controls and their proper opera tion. Know how to stop the machi ne and disengage t hem quickly. NOTE: Refer to the En gine Manual packed with your edger for a detailed description of all engine-relat ed controls and components.
7 SECTION 4: OPERATING YOUR EDGER The operation of an y edger can result in foreign object s being thrown into the eyes, which ca n result in severe eye damage.
8 SECTION 5: MAKING ADJUSTMENTS Bevel Adjustment (models so equipped) NOTE: Edger features var y by model. All edger models do NOT com e equipped f or blade tilt ad justment nor is there a blade tilt kit available to modify your edger if it was not purchased equ ipped to do so.

10 • Lower the righ t, rear wheel by m oving the curb height adjustm ent lever s lightly to the left. See Figure 12. Figure 12 • Pivot the right, rear wheel into an applicable position in relation to the height of the curb to be edged along. • Release the curb height adjustment lever to lock the wheel in po sition.
11 • With your othe r hand, carefully reach under the rear of the unit and re move the belt from around the engine flywheel pulley. • Remove the spindle sh eaves belt guard by removing t he two se lf-tappi ng s crews which secure it to the blade plate assemb ly.
12 SECTION 7: OFF-SEASON STORAGE Observe the following whe n preparing the edger for long-term storage : • Clean and lubricate uni t thoroughly as instructed on page 10 of this manual. • Refer to the Eng ine Manual packed separately with the edger for engin e manufacturers’s storage instructions.
