3 WI N D S H I E LD WI PE R/WASH E R SWIT CH The ignition switc h must be in the ON position to activate the windshield wipers. Move the lever to the following positions to operate the windshield wipers: 1A Intermittent (I NT) – Front wipers operate intermittently and can be further adjusted by twisting the time control ring 1B .
STE E R I N G WH E E L SWITCHE S FOR A U D IO CONTR OL/ B LU ETOO TH ® (if so equipped) Press the MOD E button to turn the radio system on. T o choose Preset A, B, C, CD, AUX or X M ® (if so equipped) press MOD E repeatedly. The tuning up or down switch can be used to perform the following: •Pushthe switch for less than 1.
5 MAN U AL CLI MA TE CONTROL 01 F AN SPE E D CONTR OL DIAL T urn the fan speed control dial to the left (slow) or right (fast) to control fan speed. 02 TE M PERA TU RE CONTR OL D IAL T urn the temperature control dial for the desired temperature. T urn the control dial to the left for cold air or right for hot air .
6 FM / AM /XM ® * RAD I O WITH CD CHANG ER (if so equipped) 01 PR E SET A·B·C B UTTON Press the PR E SET A·B·C button until you reach the desired setting. The radio is equipped with three separate banks, each with six station presets. Y ou may store any combination of FM, AM or X M ® radio presets on eac h bank.
7 04 SCAN/ R PT B UTTON Press the SC AN/RP T button to stop at each broadcasting station (FM, AM or X M ® ) for 5 seconds. Pressing the button again during this 5-second period will stop scan tuning and the radio will remain tuned to that station. If the SC AN/RP T button is not pressed within 5 seconds, scan tuning moves to the next station.
8 CLOCK SET/AD J USTM ENT Press and hold the D I SP CLOCK button until it beeps. The hours will start flashing. Press the C A T/ F OLDE R or S E E K/TRACK buttons to adjust the hours. Press the D I SP CLOCK button to switch to the minute adjustment. Press the C A T/ F OLDE R or S E E K/TRACK buttons to adjust the minutes.
9 VE H I CLE D YNAM IC CONTROL (VD C) OFF SWITCH (if so equipped) The V ehicle Dynamic Control (VD C) system monitors driver inputs and vehicle motion. Under certain conditions, it controls braking and engine out put to he lp imp rov e tr act ion or ha ndl ing.
10 H I LL ST ART AS S I ST (if so equipped) The hill start assist system automatically keeps the brakes applied to help prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards in the time it takes the driver to release the brake pedal and apply the accelerator when the vehicle is stopped on a hill.
11 S EA T B E L T W AR N I N G LIG HT AN D CH I ME T he light and chime remind you to fasten your seat belts. The light illuminates whenever the ignition switc h is placed in the ON or ST ART position and remains illuminated until the driver’s seat belt is fastened.
FOLD FLA T FR ONT P AS S E NG E R SEA T T o fol d the fron t-pas seng er’s seatb ack flat for extra storage length when transporting long items: Slide the seat to the rearmost position. Lift up on the recline lever 0 1 , located on the outside edge of the seat, and fold the seatback forward as far as it will go.
13 FOLD I NG TH E R EAR B E N CH S EA T (Crew Cab Model only) FOLD I NG TH E S EA TBACK DOWN: T o fold the rear bench seatback down to access the jacking tools, pull up on the straps 0 1 located on the outer edge of the seatbacks and fold the seatbac k forward.
NOTE: Garage door openers (manufactured after 199 6) have “rolling code protection. ” T o program a garage door opener equipped with “rolling code protection, ” you will need to use a ladd er to get to t he ga rage door open er mo tor to be able to acces s the “smart or learn” program button.
15 B LU ETOO TH ® HAN D S-FR E E PH ON E SY STE M (if so equipped) W ith an overhead microphone and sound transmitted through the audio system speakers, the Bluetooth ® Hands-free Phone System utilizes Bluetooth ® wireless technology and voice recognition to provide hands-free cellular phone communication.
16 CONN EC TING PROCEDU RE NOTE: T he vehicle must be stationary when connec ting the phone. 1. Press the button on the steering wheel. The system announces the available commands. 2. S ay “Connect Phone. ” 3. The system acknowledges the previous command and announces the next set of available commands.
