4 At the beginning of the defrost cycle, both the outdoor condenser f an and compressor will tur n off . After approximately 30 seconds , the compressor will tur n on and begin to heat the outdoor coil causing the ice and snow to melt.

6 Figure 5. Return Air Box INST ALLING RETURN AND SUPPL Y AIR FITTINGS The supply and retur n fi ttings are included with the unit and located in the supply duct. They attach to the unit openings (Figure 4) with a fl ange and bead arrangement and ma y be, secured with two sheet metal scre ws.

8 Connecting the Return and Supply Air Flexib le Ducts • The retur n duct f or all units is 14” diameter . • The supply duct f or all units is 12” diameter . • The fl e xible ducts can be connected to the corresponding fi ttings with the clamps provided with the ducts.

12 SYSTEM OPERA TION Pre-Start Checklist The f ollowing check list should be observed prior to star ting the unit. Is the unit le vel? Unit should be le vel or slightly slanted tow ard the drain for proper condensate drainage .
13 Anti Short Cycle Timer T est The 3 minute time dela y feature can be b ypassed by shorting the “TEST” pins together . Heating Mode When the “TEST” pins are shorted together f or more than 1 second, the control will switch between defrost mode and heating mode as described in the Defrost T est Procedure section (page 12).
