About the Expansion Module for IP Phone 1100 Series 9 Adjusting the display The Expansion Mod ule is equipped with a graphical , pixel-based, grayscale LCD display a rea beside the 18 line/feature keys (see Figure 1 on page 8). Each of the 18 physical keys on the Expansion Module has a 10-chara cter display label .
Setup and assembly 10 Setup and assembly The Expansion Mod ule mounts on the right side of the IP Phone . The Expansion Module sn aps into the Accessory Expansion Mo dule (AEM) on the back of the IP Phone using the desk-mount bracket a nd structural baseplate suppli ed with the Expansion Module.
Setup and assembly 11 Installing the Expansion Module Use the following instructions to install the Expansion Module. 1. Press the tilt lever to adjust the st and angle on the IP Phon e. You can adjust the stand angle to maximum, instead of removing the stand.

Place th e connecting arm of the Exp ansion Module behind th e IP Phone and align the Expansion Module connectio n plug to the AEM port on the back of the IP Phone.

Setup and assembly 14 Expansion Module star tup initialization Once the Expansion Mo dule has been installed and powered up on the IP Phone, the Expansio n Module initializes.
Setup and assembly 15 Adjusting the tilt base The Expansion Module stand provides a continuous tilt adjustmen t so the tilt angle matches the IP Phone stand angle wh ile accommodating variations in the de sk surface. A clamp mech anism is used to unlock and lock the foot stand angle.
Controls and settings 16 Contr ols and settings When an Expansion Module is installe d on an IP Phone, the co ntrols and settings of the IP Phone control bo th the IP Phone and th e Expansion Module. Use the Telephone Opt ions menu on the attached IP Phon e to set the contrast and feature key labels of th e Expansion Module.
