The Signaling Server is an industry- standard, PC- based server that provides a central processor to drive H.323 and Session Initiatio n Protocol (SIP) signaling for IP Phones and IP Peer Networking.

System architecture Page 29 o f 44 Communication Server 1000S Overview • NRS Database — The NRS database stores the central dialing plan in XML format for both the SIP Redirect Server and the H.323 Gatekeeper. The SIP Redirect Server and H.323 Gatekeeper both access this common endpoint and gateway database.

If the MG 1000S is on a physically different subnet, such as in a differen t building, then you can use VLANs to keep IP addresses on the same logical subnet.
