ASUS Eee PC 2-7 Ba ttery Pack The batt er y pack is automa tically charged when connected to an AC po wer source and main tains power to the Eee PC when AC pow er is not connected. This allows use when moving temporarily between locations . Batter y time varies by usage and b y the specifications for this Eee PC.

3-2 Chapter 3: G etting Started Power System Using A C Po wer The Eee PC pow er comprises two parts, the power adapter and the battery power system. The power adapter con verts AC power from a wall outlet to the DC pow er required by the E ee PC.

3-6 Chapter 3: G etting Started Super Hybrid Engine Super Hybrid Engine offers differ ent power modes . The assigned instant key toggles power sa vings between various po wer saving modes. The pow er saving modes con trol many aspects of your Eee PC to maximize performance versus battery time.
ASUS Eee PC 3-7 Emergency Shutdown & Reset In case your operating syst em cannot properly turn OFF or restar t , there are additional wa ys to shutdown and r eset your Eee PC: Shutdown: Hold the power button until the system shuts down.
3-8 Chapter 3: G etting Started Touchpad Usage Single-finger gesture input Clicking/T apping - With the pointer ov er an item, press the left button or use your fingertip to touch the touchpad lightly , keeping your finger on the touchpad until the it em is selected.
ASUS Eee PC 3-9 Dragging - Dragging means to pick up an it em and place it anywhere on the screen y ou wish. Y ou can move the pointer o ver the item you select, and while keeping the lef t button depr essed , moving the pointer t o the desired location, then release the button.
3-10 Chapter 3: G etting Started T wo-finger scrolling - Use two finger tips to slide up or do wn on the touchpad to scroll a windo w up or do wn. If your displa y windo w includes several sub-windo ws, move the poin ter on that pane before scr olling.
ASUS Eee PC 3-11 Keyboard Usage Special F unction Ke ys The follo wing defines the colored hot keys on the Eee PC’ s k eyboard . The colored c ommands can only be accessed by first pressing and holding the function key while pressing a key with a colored command .

Set your Eee PC to High P erformance or Super Performance mode if you want to use a higher r esolution with a connected external monitor . Connect an external monitor before booting up the Eee PC.

When connecting, you ma y hav e to enter a passwor d. 2. Select the wireless access point you want t o connect to from the list and click Connect to build the connection.
