6 QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE 1. Av oid eating, smoking, and e xercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. 2. Put your left arm through the cuf f loop. The bottom of the cuf f should be about 1/2 inch abo ve the elbo w . The cuf f tab should lie ov er the brachial artery on the inside of the arm.
7 BA TTER Y INST ALLA TION / REPLACEMENT 1. Slide the battery co ver of f in the direction of the arro w . 2. Install 4 “ AA” size batteries so + (positi ve) and – (ne gati v e) polarities match the polarities of the battery compartment as indicated.
8 CARE AND MAINTENANCE To k eep your digital blood pr essur e monitor in the best condition and pr otect the unit fr om dama ge follow the dir ections listed below: Clean the monitor with a soft dry cloth. Do not use an y abrasi v e or v olatile cleaners.
9 HOW TO APPL Y THE ARM CUFF 1. If the cuf f is assembled correctly , the se wn hook material will be on the outside of the cuf f loop and the metal D-ring will not touch your skin. 2. P ass the end of the cuf f furthest from the tubing through the metal D-ring to form a loop.
10 HOW TO APPL Y THE ARM CUFF 4. Pull the cuf f so that the top and bottom edges are tightened e v enly around your arm. 5. When the cuf f is positioned correctly , press the se wn hook material FIRML Y against the pile side of the cuf f. 6. Make certain the cuf f f its snugly around your arm.
11 HOW TO T AKE A MEASUREMENT Please read “Ho w T o Apply The Arm Cuf f” before taking a reading. 1. Press the ON/OFF Button. a) All display symbols appear for about one second. This is the initial LCD T est. b) The display symbols disappear and the Deflation Indication Symbol ( ) starts to flash.
12 HOW TO T AKE A MEASUREMENT 3. Remain still. The cuff will begin to deflate automatically . 4. As the cuf f deflates, decreasing numbers appear on the display . The Heart Symbol ( ) flashes at e v ery heartbeat. 5. When measurement is complete, the Heart Symbol ( ) stops flashing and your blood pressure and pulse rate are displayed alternately .
13 HOW TO USE THE MEMOR Y FUNCTION This monitor has a memory capable of storing fourteen (14) sets of readings. Ev ery time you complete the measurement, the monitor automatically stores blood pressure and pulse rate. • Press the ON/OFF Button. • Press the MEMOR Y Button to recall stored readings while the Heart Symbol ( ) is displayed.

6 GUÍA DE REFERENCIA RÁPIDA 1. Evite comer , fumar y hacer ejercicios f ísicos por lo menos 30 minutos antes de medir la presión arterial. 2. P ase el brazo izquierdo a trav és del lazo formado con el brazalete. La parte inferior del brazalete debe quedar aproximadamente a un centímetro y medio (1/2”) por encima del codo.
7 INST ALACIÓN Y RECAMBIO DE LAS PILAS 1. Retire la tapa del compartimiento para pilas en la dirección que indica la flecha. 2. Coloque 4 pilas “ AA” de modo que las polaridades positi v a (+) y neg at iva (–) coincidan con las del compartimiento.
8 CUIDADO Y MANTENIMIENTO Pa ra conservar su monitor digital de pr esión arterial en perfecto estado y pr o te g erlo contr a daños, siga las instrucciones que se detallan a continuación: Limpie el monitor con un paño sua v e y seco. No utilice limpiadores abrasi v os ni v olátiles.
9 CÓMO COLOCAR EL BRAZALETE 1. Si el brazalete está armado correctamente, el cierre tipo V elcro quedará en la parte e xterna del brazalete y el anillo metálico en “D” no estará en contacto con la piel. 2. P ase el e xtremo del brazalete que esté más alejado del tubo a tra v és del anillo metálico en “D” para formar un lazo.
10 CÓMO COLOCAR EL BRAZALETE 4. T ire del brazalete de manera tal que los extremos superior e inferior queden ajustados en forma pareja alrededor del brazo. 5. Cuando el brazalete se encuentre en la posición correcta, presione el lado áspero del V elcro FIRMEMENTE contra su lado sua v e.
11 CÓMO MEDIR LA PRESIÓN ARTERIAL Antes de medir la presión arterial, recuerde leer la sección “Cómo colocar el brazalete”. 1. Pulse el botón ON/OFF (Encendido). a) T odos los símbolos aparecen en el visor durante aproximadamente un se gundo.
