4 PR EP A R A T ION INST ALLING BA TTERIE S You need two AA ba tteri es (not sup plied ) to power your SCP-94. For the best performance and longest lif e, we recom mend al kali ne batter ies, such as Ra- dioShack Cat. No . 23-5 57. Fol low these steps t o in- stall bat teri es.

6 CONNECTING HEADPH ONES/ SPEAKERS You must connect the sup plied ster eo headph ones or the bo nus mini spea kers t o listen to t he SCP-94 . Connect th e he adpho nes to the jac k.
7 Listening Safely To protec t your hear ing, fo llow these gui delin es when you use headpho nes. • Set the vol ume to the lowest set ting befor e you begin l istenin g. Afte r you begin l isten ing, adjus t the v olume t o a c omfort able l evel. • Do no t list en at e xtremely hi gh vol ume leve ls.

14 USING F AST FOR W A RD To fast-for ward the tape, press FF . The tape fa st-for- wards unt il you press STOP or the tape r eache s the end of one side.
15 T APE TI PS T APE QUALITY For t he best perfo rmance, use onl y regul ar lengt h (60- or 90-mi nute) casset te tapes. We do not recom - mend long- playi ng casset te tape s, such as C-120s , becau se they are ext reme ly thin and ca n easil y tan- gle i n th e play back mec hanism.

CLEANING THE T APE -HANDLING P A RTS Dirt, dust , or par ticles of the tape’ s coati ng can accu- mulate o n the ta pe head and o ther par ts t hat the tap e touches.
