2 1 General Information and W arnings • The telephone is designed f or indoor use only . Do not install the telephone in areas where there is the risk of an explosion, e xcessive e xposure to smoke , dust, vibrations, chemicals, moisture and heat.

4 3 Installation 3.1 Installing batteries (supplied) in the phone Y ou must install 4 AA Alkaline batteries (supplied) in the phone base, or the display and Caller ID will not w ork. W arnings Before opening the battery compartment, make sure the telephone is disconnected from the telephone line and the mains po wer supply .
5 3.3 W all Mounting Method A. T o fit to an existing telephone wall plate with modular connector simply , 1. Press and lift out the handset holder on base . Rotate it 180° , and snap it into place (see A) so it will hold the handset in place when the phone is mounted on the wall.

7 5.1 Making a call 1. Pic k up the handset or press SPEAKER button (the speak er LED will light) and wa it for a dial tone . 2. Dial the n umber you wish to call. The displa y will show the number that you are dialling. If y ou dial a number ov er 14 digits long, it will show the last 14 digits only .
8 5.6 How T o T urn on T elstra call waiting (Australia) Y ou can use the RECALL button to ans wer a second call while you are on the phone. Ho we v er this ser vice will need to be tur ned on. For e xample to turn on T elstra’ s Call Waiting service: 1.
9 6.0 Receiver T one V olume Contro l Y ou can use the T ONE slide switch to adjust high frequency sounds . W ords are clearer and easier to understand. Note: The tone adjustment function will not wo r k if the receiv er volume is set to the minimum le vel.
10 6.2.2 Dialling fr om the Phone Book 1. Press . 2. Scroll to the required memor y location using or . T o quick-search in the Phone Book press the corresponding number b utton one or more times f or the first letter (refer to the table on the pre vious page).
11 7.3 Storing numbers in Memory locations 0-9 1 . Press ST ORE button. 2 . Enter the telephone number to be stored (up to 22 digits). Press STORE button. 3 . Enter the name (up to 16 characters) . Press the corresponding number b utton one or more times for the first letter (see the abo v e table).
12 8.2 CID Call T ypes Besides showing telephone n umbers, the display can sho w a number of messages: OUT OF AREA It is an Inter national call or a call from a PBX (no information received). PRIV A TE Inf or mation on the number is b lock ed. The call could also be from a PBX.
13 9.2 W arranty Information (a) W arranty Oricom warrants that the product is free from def ects in materials and workmanship f or a period of 12 months effectiv e from the date of purchase. This warranty in no w ay aff ects your statutor y warranty under the T rade Practices Act 1974 or any other similar legislation.
14 9.3 Cleaning and care The surface of the case can be cleaned with a dry , soft, lint-free cloth. Nev er use cleaning agents, particular ly aggressiv e solvents. Apar t from occasional cleaning of the case, no other care is necessary . The rubber feet of the base station are not resistant to all cleaning agents.
