14 VQT 1E14 Before u sing ∫ About the Card/batt e ry door and the T erminal cov er If dirt, dus t or liquids such as water get inside the Card/battery door or the T erminal cover , it m ay caus e the unit to malfunction. Be careful about the following.
15 VQT 1E14 Before using T o use a tripod (VW -CT4 5E; opti o nal), the tripod a daptor on the 2- way hand strap (supplied) must be attached to this unit. (Please carefully read t he operating instru ctions for h ow to atta ch the unit to the tr i pod.
Before u sing 16 VQT 1E14 SD card This unit can be used for recording m otion pictures and s till pictures to an SD card. *1 Cannot be guaranteed in operat ion. The recording m ay suddenly stop during motion picture recording depending on t he SD card you use.
Before using 17 VQT 1E14 ≥ A MultiMediaCard canno t be used on this unit. ≥ When the write-protect switch A on S D card is lock ed, no recording, deletion or ed iting will be possible on the c ard. ∫ About SD cards that you c a n use for motion picture recording.

19 VQT 1E14 Set up Setup Power supply The unit is in the standby condition when the AC adapt or is connect ed. The primary c ircuit is always “live” as long as the AC adapt or is connect ed to an electrical outlet. When this unit i s purchased, the battery is not charged.
20 VQT 1E14 Setup 4 Conn ect the A C a daptor (supplie d) A to this unit an d the A C outlet. 1 Slide the term inal cover lock to OPEN and then open the terminal cover . 2 Connect the AC cable to t he AC adaptor , t hen the AC outlet. 3 Connect the AC adaptor to this unit’s DC input terminal.
21 VQT 1E14 Set up charging the bat tery again. If the battery still fails to cha rge, something may be wrong with the unit, battery , AC adaptor etc. Contact your dealer . When the status indicator i s off: ≥ Charging is completed. ≥ When the status indicator does no t flash, reinsert the battery or the AC adaptor .

Recording 37 VQT 1E14 Recording Before re cording First, format the SD ca rd if one which has been used on another device is going to be used fo r the first t ime on t his unit. ( l 70) When the SD c ard is format ted, all of the recorded data is delet ed.
Recording 38 VQT 1E14 ≥ This unit has lens-protecting glass to prevent drop s of water getting in the lens. I f there is dirt or drops of wat er on the lens -protecting glass, wipe t hem off before recording. We rec ommend using t he cleaning cloth.
Recording 39 VQT 1E14 Recording motion pictures ≥ When the unit i s purchased, the aspect ratio i s set to [ 16:9] for recording images compatible with a wide-screen TV .
