Doing so may damage the motherboard. 1.5.2 Placement direction When installing the motherboard, make sure that you place it into the chassis in the correct orientation. ASUS P4GE-MX motherboard 1-9 1.6.2 Installing the CPU Follow these steps to install a CPU. 1. Locate the 478-pin ZIF socket on the motherboard. Make sure that the socket lever is lifted up to 90°-100° angle; otherwise, the CPU does not fit in completely .
1-10 Chapter 1: Product introduction 1.7.2 Installing a DIMM Follow these steps to install a DIMM. 1. Unlock a DIMM socket by pressing the retaining clips outward. 2. Align a DIMM on the socket such that the notch on the DIMM matches the break on the socket.

T o display the sub-menu, select the item and press Enter .

2-24 Chapter 2: BIOS information Save & Exit Setup Once you are finished making your selections, choose this option from the Exit menu to ensure the values you selected are saved to the CMOS RAM. The CMOS RAM is sustained by an onboard backup battery and stays on even when the PC is turned off.
