1 1. IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Before using the system, be sure to read these “IMPORT ANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS”. After reading this manual, sav e it in a convenient place. W arning Installation Precautions • Do not install yourself . Installation should alwa ys be performed by your dealer or a professional service provider .
2 2. NAMES AND OPERA TIONS 1. Operation Display Displays the operation status. (The fi gur e shows all the statuses.) • The auto-fl ap display may be dif ferent, depending on the installed unit. (See Page 13) 2. Start/Stop button Pressing this button once starts and pressing again stops the operation.

4 1. Receiver Receives the signal sent from the r emote controller . 2. Emergency operation button Display lamps When an error occurs, one of the lamps fl ashes. When a display lamp is b linking, refer to “14. BEFORE REQUESTING SER VICE”. 3. Operating lamp This lamp is lit when the unit is operating.

7 3. INST ALLING BA TTERIES 1. Remo ve the cover . 2. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries. Put the batteries in with the polarity [+/–] as shown in the fi gure. 3. Gentl y inser t one end of an unf olded paper clip (or a similar object that can fi t) into the Reset hole and press the reset button inside the hole and then put the cover bac k on.
8 4. SETTING THE CURRENT TIME After changing the batteries and pressing r eset, be sure to reset the current time. (When reset is pr essed, the current time reverts to [ ]) 1. Press for tw o seconds or more. Once the clock displays starts blinking, the clock can be set.
9 5. OPERA TION P ower: T urn on the power of the indoor unit at least 14 hours before operation. 1. Press . 2. Press and select from among A uto , Heat , Dry , Cool and Fan . 3. Press and select the desired speed. If set to Auto , the fan speed switches automatically .
10 If the unit is not heating very effectively with a Low fan speed , switc h the fan speed to High or Medium. Depending on the indoor unit being used, it may indicate a function that it does not have. (The fan speed is set.) If you cannot turn the air conditioner off in the normal wa y .
11 6. TIMER OPERA TION • When setting the timer , make sure the current time on the remote contr oller is accurate. • The timer’ s clock can only be set when the display of the remote controller is ON. • After setting the timer , put the remote controller in a place where its signal will r each the receiver of the indoor unit.

13 7. ADJUSTING THE WIND DIRECTION Please face the fl ap (up-down wind direction plate) downwards . If it faces upwards, the w arm air will not reach the fl oor le vel. In the Heat Mode Please face the fl ap (up-down wind direction plate) upwards. If the plate faces do wnwards, condensation may f or m and drip from around the air outlet.
14 CZ-R WSC1U The available functions differ depending on the indoor unit being used. The wind dir ection cannot be set via remote contr oller for any models other than those noted below . For more information, please refer to the users’ manual that came with your indoor unit.
15 9. USING THE REMO TE CONTROLLER • Point the transmitter of the r emote controller at the receiver . When the signal is received correctly it will beep once. (It beeps twice only when the unit starts operating.) • The signal can be r eceived at a distance of about 19 ft.
16 11. ADDRESSES In both multi and single unit installations, when more than one indoor unit is installed in the same room with a compatible r emote controller , addresses can be set up to avoid crosstalk.
17 Address Display on the remote controller ••••• CZ-RWSU1U P osition of receiver’ s (inside indoor unit) address switch The position of the receiver’ s address switch does not matter . ••••• For 1, 2 and 3, set the switch on the right and f or 4, 5 and 6, to the left.
18 Setting Addresses (CZ-R WSY1U/CZ-RWSK1U) (Setting the address of the indoor unit) 1. Fir st of all, set the address f or the remote controller with Setting Remote Contr ol Address (See P age 16). 2. Press [Emer g enc y Operation] of the indoor unit for four seconds or more.
19 12. EMERGENCY OPERA TION Use [Emergency Operation] in the following situations when there is an urgent need. • When the r emote controller’ s batteries have failed. • When the r emote controller is broken. • When the r emote controller is lost.
20 Stop: press [Emergency Operation] of the receiver again. Note • The T est Run/On and T est/On switches are for use when the unit is installed and test run. It is not for normal use. • If the [Nor mal/Stop ALL] switch is on Stop ALL , the unit cannot r eceive signals from the remote controller .
21 13. MISCELLANEOUS SETTINGS A variety of changes can be made to settings, depending on the indoor unit being used. Wind Direction (fl ap) indicator , operation mode indicator , time display (24 hour , AM/ PM), Heat Max T emp • For infor mation about the fl ap function, r efer to the users’ manual of the unit being used.
22 14. BEFORE REQUESTING SER VICE Before requesting service, please check the followings. Problem Cause Solution The unit doesn’t work ev en when is pressed on the remote controller . The power to the indoor unit is not ON. Make sure the power to the indoor unit is ON.
