- 13 - This unit can r ecord motion pictu res or still pictures to a microSD card. Cards that you can use w ith this unit Use microSD Me mory Card (512 MB/1 GB/ 2 GB) or mi croSDHC Memory Card (4 GB/8 GB/ 16 GB/32 G B) confor ming to Cla ss 4 *2 or high er of the SD Speed Clas s Rating *1 for motion pictur e rec ording .
- 14 - Inserting/removing a mic roSD card Caut ion: Check that th e access lamp A has gone off. ≥ When this un it i s acce ssing the mi croSD card (such as reco gnit ion, re cord ing, playb ack an d deletio n), the acc ess lamp lights up.
- 15 - Press the powe r button to turn on this unit. T urning th is unit on/off The po wer lamp is tu rned on. T o turn off thi s unit Hold do wn the powe r button un til the pow er lamp goes off.
- 16 - ∫ Use this unit as a wirele ss LAN dev ice When using equipment or com puter syste ms that re quire mor e reliable sec urity than wir eless LAN devices, ensure th at the appropria te meas ures are take n for s afety design s and d efects for the systems used.
- 17 - Inst alling Image App The Ima ge App is an app licatio n for the s martph one provi ded by P anasonic . ≥ The serv ice may n ot be able to be used pr operly depend ing on the type of smartpho ne bein g used. For compatible d evices, see the fo llowing suppo rt site.
- 18 - Select th is unit's S SID (Wi reless netw ork name ) on a sm artpho ne and en ter passwo rd to conn ect wit h the sm artph one. ≥ Change th e default SS ID and password a fter completin g the firs t setting. ( l 19 ) 1 Press the Wi-Fi/WPS bu tton continuo usly to ch ange the Wi-Fi mode lamp to [ ].
- 19 - After making the settings according to the setup wizard screens, you can use the main functions of this unit. Proce ed to c omplete the set up by f ollow ing the on-s creen in struct ions. ≥ The setu p wizard is disp layed at the time o f purchase and after a long period of non-u se during which the b attery ran down.
- 20 - ∫ If the conne ction betwe en this unit and th e smartphone has been interrupted The con nection between this u nit and the smar tphone may be interru pted tem porarily depen ding o n radio wave conditions. An atte mpt to reco nnect is made automat ically w hen radio wave inte rferen ce, etc.

- 22 - Basic Record motion pictu res or still pictur es using the sma rtphone as a re mote control. ≥ For detail s, refer t o the h elp of t he Image App. Recording motion pictures 1 Ta p . ≥ This unit is set t o the recording m ode. 2 T ap the m otion picture recordin g icon to st art.
- 23 - ∫ Checks befo re recording If you inte nd to r ecord only w ith this un it by turning off the Wi-F i mode, we recommen d you make a test recording to check the sett ings such as th e field of view mode, [Im age stabilization] an d [White balanc e] befo re recordi ng.
- 24 - Ta p # [Recor d Setu p] # respect ive item s on th e Image App sc reen. ≥ For mor e informa tion, re fer to the help of the Image App. This se ts the record ing mod e. The gr eater the numb er is, the higher th e image quality is. Howe ver , the file size a lso become s greater.
- 25 - This is for recording still pictures at a set interval. (60 Seconds/30 Seconds/10 Seconds/5 Seconds/ 3 Seconds/O FF) ≥ If you tap the still picture rec ording ico n, inter mittent recordin g starts. (T ap it again to stop recordin g.) ≥ Y ou c an also start/st op inter mittent record ing by p ressing the photos hot bu tton on this unit.
- 26 - When the c olour tone does n ot look natu ral due to a light sour ce, etc., tap [Preset ], and select the mode . ≥ When recor ding under mercu ry vapo r lamp s, sodi um lamp s, sp otl ight s in a t heat er , etc. or when recording a suns et/sunrise, etc.
- 27 - Motion pictures or still pictures s tored in this unit ar e played back with the smartphone. ≥ For mor e informa tion, re fer to the help of the Image App. 1 Ta p . ≥ Thumbnails of motion picture or still pictur e stored in this unit are displayed.
- 28 - Playback settings Ta p # [Pla yback se tting s] # respec tive it ems on the Ima ge App s creen. ≥ For mor e informa tion, re fer to the help of the Image App. ≥ Please r efer to page 32 for "Picture Sha re" settings. If “Medium” is set, the data will be resized to 2.
- 29 - Camera function Ta p # # items i n [Camer a func tion] on the Image Ap p scre en. ≥ For mor e informa tion, re fer to the help of the Image App. ≥ For “P lay on T V”, ref er to “Playi ng back on a D LNA-compati ble TV ” ( l 43 ). Motion/still pictur es can be protecte d so that t hey are not delete d by mistake.
- 30 - When you upload motio n pictures and still pic tures recorded with this unit on WEB services (Facebo ok, Y ouTube, etc. ) or perfo rm a live broa dcast us ing “USTREA M”, you a re req uired to se t the following. ≥ For mor e informa tion, re fer to the help of the Image App.
- 31 - “LUMIX CLUB” settings If you i ntend to b roadcas t a live m otion pi cture or u se WEB se rvices wi th an iO S device, you are required to reg ister “ LUMIX C LUB” and WEB serv ices yo u use because upload ing or live broadcas ting i s done vi a “LUMIX CLUB”.
- 32 - 4 Close (or hide) the Im age App, turn on the Wi-Fi se tting, and conne ct this unit and smartphone ( l 17 ) When yo u perform a live b roadcas t with USTR EAM, yo u are required t o synchroni se the “ LUMIX CLUB” set tings with this unit.
- 33 - Uploads motion/still pict ures stored o n this unit to WEB ser vices. “LUMIX C LUB” settings , etc. are requ ired fo r uploa ding . ( l 31 ) Refer to “Re quired setti ngs for se nding d ata, etc.” ( l 30 ). ≥ For mor e informa tion, re fer to the help of the Image App.
- 34 - ≥ If 3G or othe r mobile connection s are used for up loading motion pictu res or still pictures, h igh data charge s may be i ncurred dependi ng on th e conte nt of your data plan. Upload ing on WEB service s can als o be done with an a ccess po int conn ection.
- 35 - Advanced This is t he conn ection meth od for Live broa dcasting using th e “LUMI X CLUB” and “UST REAM” services. ≥ Check if the wireless access point is compati ble with IEEE802.1 1b, IEEE802.1 1g, or IEEE802.1 1 n. ≥ Access po int settin gs are req uired specia lly for Li ve broa dcasting .
- 36 - Enter SSID ( Wireless n etwork nam e) and passwo rd of your access point to connect this unit to the access point . 1 Check the SSID and p assword of your access point. ≥ The SSID and passwor d of th e access poin t (e.g. a wireless router ) you us e are des cribed o n the access poin t device or in its manual.
- 37 - Using th e “LUM IX CLUB” and “UST REAM” ser vices, you can br oadcast l ive motio n pictures. (Live broadcas ting) ≥ For the con nection, refer to “Set ting the con nection de stination for Live bro adcastin g (Connecti ng in Live broadc ast mode)” ( l 35 ).
- 38 - Set the Image Qua lity , etc. fo r when i n Live broa dcast m ode. (Di rect connec tion to t he sma rtphone is required for the se ttings. ( l 17 )) From t he Imag e App, tap # [Cam era Wi-Fi s ettin gs] # [Live mo de set tings] , and ma ke the settin gs.
- 39 - ∫ About Image Qua lity for Live b roadcasting Set the Ima ge Quality fr om the fo llowing. When [AUTO] is set , the Im age Quality is che cked and is a utomatically s et to one o f the o ptions.
- 40 - Performing a liv e broadcast Press the W i-Fi/WPS button continuously to change the Wi-Fi mode lamp t o [ ]. ≥ The Wi-F i mode la mp [ ] flashes an d an alert sound is emi tted wh ile a live broad cast connectio n is being processe d. ≥ Wi-Fi mode lamp [ ] will turn on when the connection is completed.
- 41 - The foll owing conn ections a re for con trolling t his unit fr om a s martphon e via an acce ss point (wireles s router, etc.) or for playing back motion pictu res in thi s unit on a DLNA -compatib le TV . (The connecti ons of bot h 1 and 2 are requir ed) ≥ Check if the wireless access point is compati ble with IEEE802.
- 42 - Enter SSID ( Wireless n etwork nam e) and passwo rd of your access point to connect this unit to the access point . 1 Check the SSID and p assword of your access point. ≥ The SSID and passwo rd of t he access po int (e.g . a wirele ss broadb and ro uter) you use are describ ed on the access poi nt devic e or in i ts manual.
- 43 - Play back the data in th is unit on a DLNA -compatibl e device, such as a DL NA-compatibl e TV . ≥ Refer to “Connect ing to d evices on the networ k (Conn ecting in Access Poi nt mode) ” ( l 41 ) fo r inform ation on th e conn ection.
- 44 - For the networ k for this unit, tap # [Cam era Wi- Fi set tings ] # [Camera SSID settings ] from the Image A pp to mak e chang es, etc. The foll owing se ttings can b e made .
- 45 - With a PC If you con nect this unit to a P C while th is unit is tu rned off, char ging of this unit starts. ( l 11 ) If you con nect this unit to a P C while th is unit is tu rned on, this unit i s rec ognised as a card r eader, so you can access the m icroSD car d in this unit from the PC.
- 46 - ∫ For use wit h Mac Copying motion/ still pictures on PC When u sing this u nit as a card read er , remov able di sk (Exam ple: ) is disp layed in [Com puter] . 1 Double-click the folder that contains the still pictures. ([DCIM] # [100CDPFQ] etc.
- 47 - About the PC display The folder structur e of a microSD card o n which this unit has p erformed recording is as follows. Examp le folde r stru cture o f a micr oSD car d: ≥ Folde r nu mbers range f rom 10 0 to 999 . Four or five al phab etic char acters after a three -digi t number i ndica te the fil e type.
- 48 - The feature of HD W riter WE 1.0 Y ou can copy the motion/still picture files to the HDD of PCs or microSD cards using HD Writer WE 1.0, t he software installed i n the supp lied C D-ROM. ≥ Refer to the ope rating instructio ns of HD Wr iter WE 1.
- 49 - End User Licens e Agreement Before opening th e CD-R OM package, please r ead the fo llowing . Y ou (“L icensee” ) are granted a licen se for the Software d efined in this E nd User License Agreem ent (“Agr eemen t”) on co ndition that yo u agree to the te rms and co nditions of this Agreem ent.
- 50 - Operating e nvironment for HD W riter WE 1. 0 When using HD Writer WE 1.0, the follo wing PC environment is required. ≥ Even if the system requiremen ts mentioned in these operating instructions are fulfilled, some PCs cannot be used. ≥ A CD-ROM drive is necessary to install the supplied software applications.

- 55 - Proble m Chec k points Mosaic- like n oise appear s and moveme nt is jagge d when vie wing the live vi ew scre en on a smartp hone. ≥ If the R ecording Mode is set to [1920 k 10 80/50p] o r a motion picture recorded in [1 920 k 108 0/50p] is played bac k, mosa ic-like noise m ay appear on the scr een, an d moveme nt may not seem smooth.
- 56 - Proble m Chec k poi nts Access p oint is n ot displ ayed. ≥ T urn on the acce ss point. ≥ Perform th e conn ection clos er to the access poi nt. ≥ This uni t may not display or connect to a access point depe nding on the ra dio wave conditio n.
- 57 - If this u nit is not opera ting correc tly , take note of the aler t sound to resolve any pr oblems. Alert Sound “2 Beep s” soun d 4 time s ≥ If the po wer is ON, the time of this unit has not been set.
- 58 - Keep this uni t as far away a s possi ble fro m elect romagne tic equi pmen t (such as micro wave o vens, TV s, vi deo gam es et c.). ≥ If you use thi s unit on top of or near a TV , the picture s and/or s ound o n this un it may be disrup ted by electr omag netic wave radiatio n.

- 60 - microS D card s are o nly men tioned w ith thei r main m emory size. ≥ The stated times ar e the app roximate recordab le times for con tinuous recording.
- 61 - When dis posing of you r used pr oducts, remove the bat tery bu ilt into this unit after initialis ing the network s ettin gs ( l 53 ), and please coo perate in re cycling of th e battery . Please refe r to page 62 about how to remove the bat tery .
