Introduction 6 L Do not touch the plug with wet hands. L The AC adaptor is used as the main disconnect device. Ensu re that the AC outlet is installed near the unit and is easily accessible. Battery T o reduce the risk of fire or injury to persons, read and follow these instructions.

Preparation 9 Connections Note: L Use only the included Panasonic AC adaptor PQL V19AL. L The AC adaptor must re main connected a t all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to feel warm during use .) L The AC adaptor shoul d be connected to a vert ically oriented or floo r-mounted AC outlet.
Preparation 10 If you subscribe to an ADSL service L Please attach a noise filter (cont act your ADSL provider) to the telephone line between the ba se unit and the tele phone line jack in the event of th e following: – Noise is heard during conve rsations.
Preparation 11 Battery charge Place the handset on the base unit for 6 hours before init ial use. L The unit will beep once, the CHARGE indicato r will light, and “ Charging ” will be displayed. L “ Charge completed ” is displayed when the ba ttery has been ful ly charged.

Phonebook 21 Using the phonebook The handset phone book allows you to make calls without having to dial manuall y . Y ou can add 50 names and phone numbers to the handset ph onebook and search for phoneboo k entries by na me. Adding items to the phonebook 1 Press { Phonebook } .
Phonebook 22 Character table The dial keys can be used to ente r characters. T o enter a character , press the appropriate dial key , repeatedly if necessary . T o e nter another character that is located on the same dia l key , first press { > } to move the cursor to the next sp ace.

Caller ID Service 25 Caller list Caller information for the last 50 different callers will be l ogged in the caller l ist. Y o u can use this list to return missed calls. L Caller informa tion includes phone numbers, the date and time of calls, a nd the number of times each caller called.

Programmable Settings 30 T elephone settings Recall time The recall time depe nds on your telephone exchange or host PBX. Y ou can select: “ 90ms ” (milliseconds), “ 100ms ”, “ 110ms ”, “ 250ms ”, “ 300m s ”, “ 400ms ”, “ 600ms ” (default), or “ 700ms ”.

Important: L When dial lock is turned on, only phone numbers stored in the phonebo ok as emergency numb ers (numbers stored with a # at the beginning of the name ) can be d ialled using the phonebook (p age 21).
