Cong ratulations on choosing the 3Com ® Of fi ceConnect ® Gatew a y , y our ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) br oadband access solution. This guide describes how to set u p the Of fi ceConnect Gatew a y Data (3CR100A97) base unit.
When positioning y our Of fi ceConnect Gatew a y , mak e sur e of the f ollo wing: • Unit is out of dir ect sunlight and a w a y from sour ces of heat. • Ca bling is a wa y fr om pow er lines, fl uor escent lighting fi xtures , and sour ces of electrical noise such as radios , transmitters , and ampli fi e rs.
The ports and ca bles of the Of fi ceConnect Gate w a y products ar e color -coded to help you connect the ca bles properl y . The f ollo wing illustration shows the connector ca bling: T o connect the Of fi ceConnect Gatew a y ’ s ca bles: 1. Connect the DSL cable.
Each computer m ust be pr operly set u p with TCP/IP and opti- mized f or use with d ynamic IP addr essing . Checking for Dynamic or Static IP Addressing • From the Start Men u, select Settings, and then Contr ol P anel. Windows 95, 98 or NT : Double-click the Networ k icon.
The f ollo wing procedur e describes ho w to initially con fi gur e the W ide Area Networ k (W AN) interf ace settings f or y our Of fi ceConnect Gatew a y or r e-con fi gure them after r esetting the unit to its f actory default settings .

Amber (blinking) Lit during Power On Self-T est or software upgrade.
