13 Chapter 3 Basic Operation Manual Switching There are two convenient methods to access the computers: Manual – which involves pressing the port selection pushb uttons located on the unit’s front panel; and Hotkey – which invol ves entering combinations fro m the keyboard.
CS1642 / CS1644 User Manual 14 Hot Plugging The CS1642 / CS1644 supports USB hot plug ging – components can be removed and added back into the installatio n by unplugging their cables from the USB hub ports without the need to shut the unit down.
15 Chapter 4 Keyboard Port Operation The CS1642 / CS1644 provides an extensive, easy-to-use, hot key function that makes it convenient to control and configu re your KVM installation from the keyboard. Hotkeys provid e asynchronous (independent) switching of the KVM, USB hub and audio focus.

25 Chapter 5 Keyboard Emulation Mac Keyboard The PC compatible (101/104 key) keyboard can emu late the functions of the Mac keyboard. The emulation mappings are listed in the table below. Note: When using key combinations, press and release the first key (Ctrl), then press and release the activation key .

27 Chapter 6 The Firmware Upgrade Utility The Windows-based Firmware Upgrade Uti lity (FWUpgrade.exe) provides a smooth, automated process for upgrading the CS1 642 / CS1644’s fi rmware. The Utility comes as part of a Firmware Upgrade Package th at is specific for each device.
