Features Listening to the radio Y ou can listen to the radio by using this pro - duct. Playing iPod music Y ou can play and operate the audio source with the iPhone connected. Advanced App Mode With Advanced App Mode , you can display the iPhone application screen on the display of AppRadio .
Connecting your iPhone Using the supplied iPhone cable enables you to connect your iPhone to this product. p Connection via a USB hub is not possible. % Connect your iPhone. Output cable iPhone cable Disconnecting your iPhone % Pull out the iPhone cable after checking that no data is being accessed.
Home screen The Home screen is the main screen that al- lows access to your entertainment sources, Apps, settings and more. Reading the screen 12 1 Day of the week indicator 2 Current time Using the touch panel keys Radio Displays the radio source screen.
When “ iPod ” is selected as the source, tapping the key switches between play- back and pause. When “ Radio ” is selected as the source, tapping the key moves to the next or previous preset channel. When “ iPod ” is selected as the source, tapping the key moves to the next or previous track.
Starting procedure 1 Press the Home button to display the Home screen. 2 T ap [Radio] on the Home screen. 3 Use the touch panel keys on the screen to control the radio. Reading the screen 12 3 4 1 Band indicator 2 RBDS status indicator Each indicator lights when in the following status.
3 T ap the channel of the frequency you want to register . Storing the strongest broadcast frequencies This function automatically assigns frequen- cies with good reception to the preset chan- nels in the selected band. Y ou can update six channels in each band.
Starting procedure 1 Press the Home button to display the Home screen. 2 T ap [iPod] on the Home screen. 3T a p or to select an item and tap to complete the selection.
Y ou can experience P andora by connecting an iPhone that has the P andora application in- stalled. p Before per forming operations described in this chapter , be sure to read Using App- based connected content in Important Infor- mation for Users.
Using the touch panel keys Displays the list of your P andora stations to select one of them to play. = For details, refer to Selecting a P andora station from the list on this page. Switches between playback and pause. Skips to the start of the next track.
CAUTION For your safety , avoid talking on the phone as much as possible while driving. Y ou can control Bluetooth connection of the iPhone , and make a call with incoming or out- going call histories, transferred phone book, or dials.
Using the touch panel keys ! Initiates a call. ! When there is an incoming call, connects the call. ! Disconnects a call. ! When a call is being placed, cancels the call. ! When there is an incoming call, rejects the call. Each tap of the key switches be- tween phone audio output from the speakers and output from the iPhone.
p Y ou can set the system to automatically an- swer incoming calls. If not set to automati- cally answer incoming calls, you will have to answer the calls manually .
T ransferring the phone book The phone book of an iPhone currently con- nected to this product via Bluetooth wireless technology can be transferred to the product.
The following two functions are available. The rear view camera feature requires a separately sold rear view camera (e.g. ND-BC4). (For de- tails, consult your dealer .) Rear view camera This product features a function that automati- cally switches to the full-screen image of the rear view camera installed on your vehicle.
Customizing the audio settings 1 Press the Home button to display the Home screen. 2T a p on the Home screen. 3 T ap [Audio Settings]. The audio settings screen appears. 4 T ap the item that you want to change the setting. Using the equalizer The equalizer lets you adjust equalization to match vehicle interior acoustic characteristics as desired.
6T a p or to adjust the level of the equalizer band. Y ou can set the level of the equalization band between “ – 15 ” and “ 15 ” . 7T a p or to select the desired Q fac- tor . Y ou can select the following Q factors: Low : 1 — 1.25 — 1.5 — 2 Mid : 0.
Black level Y ou can adjust the black intensit y . Each time you tap or increases or decreases the level. “ 5 ” to “ 1 ” is displayed as the level is increased or decreased. General settings 1 Display the general settings screen. 2T a p . Make the following settings.
RCA Preout Y ou can set audio output to the rear speakers. ! FULL (default): When no subwoofer is connected to the rear out- put, select “ FULL ” . ! Sub.W : When a subwoofer is connected to the rear out- put, select “ Sub.W ” . Sub.W LPF Y ou can set the cut off frequency of the subwoofer output.
5T a p or to select the function to as- sign. 6T a p . The screen for setting the voltage appears. F ol- low the instructions displayed in the screen. Changing the background image Y ou can change the background image to the other images preinstalled in this product.
Y ou can return settings or recorded content to the default or factor y settings. There are some methods to clear user data, and the situations and the cleared content are different for each method. F or information regarding the content that is cleared by each method, see the follow- ing descriptions.
T roubleshooting If you have problems operating this product, refer to this section. The most common problems are listed below , along with likely causes and solutions. If a solution to your problem cannot be found here, contact your dealer or the nearest authorized P ioneer service facility.
Problems with the phone screen Symptom Cause Action (Reference) Dialing is not pos sible because the touch panel keys for dialing are inactive. Y our phone is out of range for ser- vice. Retry after re-ent ering the range for service. The connection between the iPhon e and this product cannot be estab- lished now .
Positioning technology Positioning by GPS The Global Positioning System (GPS) uses a network of satellites orbiting the Earth. Each of the satellites, which orbit at a height of 68 900 000 feet (21 000 km), continually broad- casts radio signals giving time and position in- formation.
! If you make a slight turn. ! If there is a parallel road. ! If there is another road ver y nearby , such as in the case of an elevated freeway . ! If you take a recently opened road that is not on the map. ! If you drive in zigzags. ! If the road has a series of hairpin bends.
! If you enter or exit a multi-storey parking lot or similar structure using a spiral ramp. ! If your vehicle is turned on a turntable or si- milar structure. ! If trees or other obstacles block the GPS signals for a considerable period. ! If you drive ver y slowly , or in a start-and- stop manner , as in a traffic congestion.
