10 C HAP TER 2: U SING Y OUR S CALE The following assumes you or a P itney Bowes engineer have completed the installation instructions included with your scale. If not, please do so now . Ensure that before y ou star t using your scale, y ou check that the scale has been levelled correctly (see page 26).

12 C HAP TER 2: U SING Y OUR S CALE Choosing F ees When a Category is selected and a price shown, the display will list the permitted fees for the Category . Y ou can continue processing mail without adding fees, or you can add fees as requir ed. To add a fee, press the M enu Selection key alongside the fee you want.

14 C HAP TER 2: U SING Y OUR S CALE U SING THE W EIGHT H OLD F EA TURE The weight hold feature is useful when weighing large envelopes that block the display . This feature retains the w eight reading for a brief time after you remo ve an item from the scale.

Depending on the shape and quantity of the parts you are weighing, you may need to place them in a container .

22 C HAP TER 3: T ROUBLESHOOTING D IA GNOSING P R OBLEMS Occasionally , error messages display on the screen. S ometimes they identify an incorrect entry and indicate corrective action. T o clear most errors: 1. P ress C/CE to return to previous menu.

26 C HAP TER 4: M AINT AINING Y OUR S C ALE Y our scale requires very little maintenance. Simply keep it clean b y wiping it with a soft dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners on your scale. The scale must have a firm base and be level to give its best performance.

P ut this PR OM to one side for now . 4. Slide the new PR OM into the empty slot ensuring the opening in the PR OM handle is in the top right hand corner .
