Safety Precautions The lighting flash w ith arrowhead symbol, within a triangle, alerts the user to “d angerous voltag e” which could cause electric shock. The ex clamation point within a triangle indicates to the user to read important oper ating and maintenance instru ctions in the manual.

Service life o f Batteries The batteries normally l ast for about six months, althou gh thi s depends on how often, and for what operations, the remote control is used.
- 13 - Sy stem Setup System Defaults The fina l step of the installation is to establish the s ystem’s defaults. It is helpful to take a fe w minutes to familiarize you rself with these settings, as they ma y require change b efore the f irst use a nd later from time to time.
- 14 - Sy stem Setup General Setu p W hen you enter the Setup me nu, use the ( / ) buttons to highlight the General Setup, then press t he bu tton to acc ess the General Setup. The left c olumn shows the items i n the Gener al Setup. The right column shows the current setting for each item.

- 20 - Sy stem Setup Disc Menu Select the Disc menu b y p ressing the ( / ) Navigation buttons unti l DISC MENU is hi ghlighted and then press the button to access the submenu. This setting allows you to select the langua ge. NOTE: There are several multi-language m enus for some discs.
- 21 - Sy stem Setup Default Select the Default menu b y pressing t he ( / ) Na vigation buttons until DEF AUL T is highlighted a nd then pr ess the button to access the submenu. T o rese t the unit to the original defaults, press the ENTER butto n to confirm.
- 22 - Normal Operation Preparation After connections have been m ade, t urn on the T V and select the relevant video input before playback. W arning: Do not play poor quality discs which ma y damage the lens.
- 23 - Normal Operation t LANGUAGE (AUDIO) There ar e up to 8 kinds of l anguages on a DVD d isc. When you play a multi-la nguage DVD disc, press the AUDIO button on remote c ontrol to select language. SUBTITLE The DVD player can support up to 32 kinds of subtitles.

- 25 - Normal Operation JPEG is a common p icture format that requires few bytes of st orage per i mage low lo ss r ate in resolution. Hundreds of pictures can be s tored on a disc in this format . In order to view d igital albums, use your film development to make a “PICTURE CD”, in JPEG format.
- 26 - Play back Functions STOP W hen you press the STOP but ton in DVD playback, playback will stop, but you can resume playback from the s ame point by pressi ng the PLA Y button (for DVD discs). Pre ss the STOP button twice to stop playback compl etely and return to the beginning of the disc.
- 27 - Play back Functions DISC INFORMA TION DISPL A Y Press the DISPLA Y button o n the re mote c ontrol t o d isplay r elevant disc information. PLA Y Press the PLA Y button to start playback. Press th e POWER button on the remote control t o ent er standby mode, and p ress it again to resume playback status.
