6 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION INST ALL A UGER CONTROL R OD (See Figs. 5 and 6) The auger control rod has the shor t loop on the end of the spring as shown. 1. Slide rubber slee ve up rod and hook end of spring into control arm with loop opening up as shown.
7 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION CHECK TIRE PRESSURE The tires on your sno w thrower were o verinfl ated at the fac- tor y f or shipping pur poses. Correct and equal tire pres sure is impor tant for best sno w throwing perf or mance. • Reduce tire pressure to 14-17 PSI.

9 OPERA TION Drive speed control le ver - used to select forw ard or re verse motion and speed of snow thro wer . T raction drive control le ver - used to engage power-pro- pelled f or ward or rev erse motion of snow thro wer . A ug er contr ol lever - used to engage auger motion (throw snow).
10 The operation of any sno w thrower can result in f oreign objects thrown into the ey es, which can result in se vere e ye damage. Alwa ys wear saf ety glasses or eye shields while oper ating your sno w thrower or perf or ming any ad just - ments or repairs.
11 OPERA TION DRIVE SPEED CONTROL LEVER TRA CTION DRIVE CONTROL LEVER A UGER CONTROL LEVER T O THRO W SNO W (See Fig. 14) The auger rotation is controlled by the auger control le v er located on the right side handle. • Squeeze auger control le v er to handle to engage the auger and throw sno w .
12 T O ADJUST SKID PLA TES (See Fig. 16) NO TE: The wrench provided in y our par ts bag ma y be used to adjust the skid plates. Skid plates are located on each side of the auger housing and adjust the clearance between the scr aper bar and the ground surf ace.

14 MAINTENANCE LUBRICA TION CHART GENERAL REC OM MEN DA TIONS The warr anty on this snow thrower does not co ver items that hav e been sub ject ed to operator abuse or negligence. T o receiv e full value from the warr anty , operator must maintain snow thro wer as in str uct ed in this manual.
15 MAINTENANCE V -BEL TS Check V -belts f or deterioration and wear after e very 50 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able. Replace belts if they begin to slip from wear . (See “T O REMO VE BEL T CO VER” in the Ser vice and Adjustments section of this manual).
16 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS W ARNING: T o a void serious injury , before perf orming any service or ad- just ments: 1. Be sure throttle is in ST OP position. 2. Remove safety ignition ke y . 3. Make sure the augers and all mov ing parts have completely stopped.
17 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O REPLA CE BEL TS (See Fig. 20) The auger and traction drive belts are not adjustab le. If the belts are damaged or begin to slip from wear , the y should be replaced. It is recommended that the belt(s) be replaced by a qualifi ed service center .
18 ST ORA GE Immediately prepare your sno w thrower f or storage at the end of the season or if the unit will not be used f or 30 days or more. W ARNING: Never store the sno w thro wer with gaso line .
