5 S Pinch -Kickback c an oc cur w hen the wood clos es in and pinc hes the moving c hain in the cut along the top of the guide bar and the chain is suddenly s topped. This s udden stopping of the chain res ults in a r ev ers al of the chain for c e used t o cut wood and caus es the pruner to move in the oppos ite direc tion of the chain rotation.

16 BAR MAINTENANCE If y our pruner c uts to one s ide, has t o be forc ed through the c ut, or been r un with an im- proper amount of bar lubric ation it may be neces s ary t o ser vic e y our bar . A worn bar will damage your c hain and make c utting dif fic ult.

18 TROUBLE CAUSE REMEDY Chain does not move when tr igger swi tch is engaged. 1. Chain tens ion inc orr ect . 2. Guide bar rails pinched. 3. Trigger sw itch failur e. 4. Circ uit break er tripped/ fuse f ailure. 1. See “C hec k Chain T ension” in Maintenance s ec tion.
