4 Read these instructions and this manual in its entirety before y ou attempt to assemble or operate y our new snow thr ower . Reading the entire manual will familiar - ize you with the unit, which will assist y ou in assembly , operation and maintenance of the product.
5 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION NO TE: The multi-wrench ma y be used for assemb ly of the chute rotator head to snow thro wer and making ad just ments to the skid plates. UNFOLD UPPER HANDLE 1. Raise upper handle to the operating position and tight en handle knobs securely .
6 ASSEMBL Y / PRE-OPERA TION INST ALL DISCHARGE CHUTE / CHUTE RO T A TER HEAD (See Fig. 7) NO TE: The multi-wrench provided in y our par ts bag ma y be used to install the chute rotater head. 1. Place discharge chute assembly on top of chute base with discharge opening tow ard front of snow thrower .

8 OPERA TION ON / OFF switch - used to ST OP the engine . T raction drive control lever - used to engage po wer-pro- pelled f or ward or rev erse motion of snow thro wer . A ug er contr ol lever - used to engage auger motion (throw snow). Discharge chute contr ol lever - used to change the di- rec tion the snow is thrown.
9 The DIST ANCE that snow is thro wn is controlled by the position of the chute defl ector . Set the defl ector low to throw sno w a shor t distance; set the defl ector higher to throw sno w far ther . • T o change the defl ector position, loosen knob , mo ve de- fl ector to desired position and tighten knob securely .
10 OPERA TION T O THRO W SNO W (See Fig. 13) The auger rotation is controlled by the auger control le v er located on the right side handle. • Squeeze auger control lev er to handle to engage the auger and throw sno w . • Release the auger control le ver to stop thro wing snow .
11 T O ADJUST SKID PLA TES (See Fig. 16) NO TE: The wrench provided in y our par ts bag may be used to adjust the skid plates. Skid plates are located on each side of the auger housing and adjust the clearance between the scr aper bar and the ground surf ace.
12 OPERA TION COLD ST AR T - ELECTRIC ST ARTER 1. Inser t saf ety ignition key (pac ked separately in parts bag) into ignition slot until it clicks . DO NO T tur n the k ey . K eep the extr a safety ignition k ey in a saf e place. 2. Place ON / OFF switch in “ON” position.
13 GENERAL REC OM MEN DA TIONS The warranty on this sno w thrower does not co ver items that hav e been sub ject ed to operator abuse or negligence. T o receive full v alue from the warr anty , operator must maintain snow thro wer as in str uct ed in this manual.
14 MAINTENANCE A UGER GEAR CASE • The gear case was fi lled with lubr icant to the proper le vel at the f actor y . The only time the lubricant needs attention is if ser vice has been perf or med on the gear case. • If lubr icant is required, use only Rone x ED #1 grease.
15 CA UTION: Do not substitute . Use onl y original equip ment capscrew/shear bolts as sup plied with y our snow thro wer . 4. Connect spar k plug wire to spark plug. W ARNING: T o a void serious injury , before performing an y service or ad just ments: 1.
