6 ASSEMBL Y CHECK TIRE PRESSURE The tires on your tr actor were o v erinfl ated at the f actory f or shipping pur poses. Correct tire pressure is impor tant f or best cutting perf ormance. • Reduce tire pressure to PSI shown on tires . CHECK DECK LEVELNESS F or best cutting results, mo wer housing should be properly le v eled.

10 OPERA TION T O ADJUST MO WER CUT TING HEIGHT (See Fig. 8) The po si tion of the at tach ment lift le ver (A) de ter mines the cut ting height. • Put attachment lift le v er in desired cutting height slot. • Slide pointer tab (T) to desired cutting height as a reminder f or ne xt time y ou mow .

12 CA UTION: Alcohol b lended fuels (called gasohol or using ethanol or methanol) can attract moisture which leads to sep a ra tion and for ma tion of acids during storage. Acidic gas can dama ge the fuel system of an engine while in storage. T o av oid engine pr oblems, the fuel system should be emptied before stor age of 30 days or longer .

16 MAINTENANCE V- B E LT S Check V -belts f or deterioration and wear after 100 hours of operation and replace if necessary . The belts are not ad just able . Re place belts if they begin to slip from w ear . TRANSAXLE COOLING The transmission f an and cooling fi ns should be kept clean to assure proper cooling.

18 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS CA UTION: After rear lift links are dis- connected, the attachment lift le ver will be spring loaded. Ha ve a tight grip on lift lever when changing position of the lever . • T ur n tractor steering wheel to the left as far as it will go .
19 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O LEVEL MO WER Make sure tires are properly infl ated to the PSI sho wn on tires. If tires are ov er or under infl ated, it ma y aff ect the appearance of y our lawn and lead y ou to think the mo wer is not adjusted properly .

23 SER VICE AND ADJUSTMENTS T O REPLACE HEADLIGHT B ULB • Raise hood. • Pull b ulb holder out of the hole in the backside of the grill. • Replace bulb in holder and push b ulb holder securely back into the hole in the bac kside of the grill. • Close hood.
24 ST ORA GE Immediately prepare your tr actor f or storage at the end of the season or if the tractor will not be used f or 30 da ys or more. W ARNING: Never store the trac tor with gas o line in the tank inside a building where fumes may reac h an open fl ame or spark.
