14 CLEAN AIR FIL TER A dirty air fil ter decreases engine perform- ance and i ncreases fuel consumpti on and harmful em issions. Alw ays c lean after ever y 5 hours of operation. 1. Clean the cover and the area ar ound it to keep dirt from falling into the carbure tor chamber when the cover i s rem oved.
15 T O REPLACE CHAIN: 1. Move ON/OFF sw itch to the OF F posi tion and disconnec t spar k plug. 2. Remove bar c lamp nut. 3. Remove bar clam p. 4. T urn adjusti ng screw by hand counter- clockw ise until adjusting pin j ust touches the stop. 5. Slide gui de bar behi nd sprocket until guide bar stops against spr ocket.
16 STORAGE W ARNING: Perform th e following steps after each us e: S Allow engi ne to c ool before storing or trans- porting. S Store unit and fuel in a wel l v entilated area where fuel vapors cannot r each spar ks or open flames from water heaters, electr ic motors or swit ches, fur naces, etc.
