10 S Aft er removing the woo d f rom the notch, ma ke the fellin g cu t on the o ppo site s ide of the notch. This is d one by making a cut about two inches higher than the center of the notch. This will leave en oug h un cut w oo d betw ee n the fe lling cut and the notch to fo rm a hinge.
