6 S Stop the unit immedia tely if y ou feel exc es s iv e vib ration. Vibrat ion is a s ign of trou ble. Inspec t thoroughly for loos e nuts , bolts or damage before c ont inuing. C ontac t a n authori zed ser v ic e dealer f or repair or replac ement of affected parts as nec es s ary.

8 ON/OFF SWITCH The O N/O FF sw itc h is locat ed on the tr igger handle and is us ed to s top the engine. Mov e the switc h to the OFF pos ition to stop the engin e. PRIMER BULB The PRIMER B ULB removes air from the car- buretor and f uel lines and fills them wit h fuel.

S For mowing or s weeping, us e full thrott le for a good c lean job. TRIMMING - - Hold the bottom o f the trimme r head about 3 inc hes (8 c m) abov e t he ground and at an angle .
12 1. Clean the c ov er and the area around it to keep dir t from falling into the car buretor chamber w hen the cov er i s remov ed. 2. Remov e parts by pres s ing button to re- lease air f ilter c over.
13 Spool Cover 1 1. Mak e s ure the lines ar e not c aught be- tween the r im of the spool and the wall of the c ov er . 12. Reins tall the spool and c over onto the trimmer head. Push until c ov er snaps into place. REPLACING THE CUTTING HEAD 1. Align hole in the dus t c up wit h the hole in the s ide of the gearbox by rotating the dust c up.
14 STORAGE WAR NI N G: P erform the follow ing st eps af ter eac h us e: S Allow engine to c ool befor e st oring or trans- porting. S Store unit and fuel in a w ell v entilated area where fuel vapor s c annot r each s park s or open f lames from w ater heaters , elec tric motors or s w itc hes, fur nac es, etc .
15 TROUBLE CAUSE REMEDY Engine will not sta rt. 1. ON /OF F s witc h in OFF pos ition. 2. Engine flooded. 3. Fuel tank empty. 4. Spark plug not firing. 5. Fuel not reac hing c arburetor . 6. Carbur etor requir es adjus tment. 1. Move ON /OF F swit ch to th e ON posit ion.
