Chapter 1 Assembling the Climber Thank you for choosing Pr ecor. For proper installation, please read this guide thoroughly and fol low the assembly instructions. If you do not assemble the climber according to these guidelines, you could void the P recor Limited Warranty.

16 Assembling and Maintaining the 835 Climb er 4. Insert the han dlebar flange onto the screws protruding through the handrail clamp). Rotate the handlebar to align it with the si de screw holes. CAUTION : Hold the handlebar upright until it is securely fastened in s tep 6 .

18 Assembling and Maintaining the 835 Climb er 9. Ask your assistant to hold the upright support while y ou attach it to the base frame using four hex head sc rews and four washers. Using a ¹₂ - inch b ox wrench or open - end wrench, tighten the f our fastener s in alternating order until all four are ful ly secured.
Assembling the Climber 19 12. Slide the rubber grommet onto the plastic top cover, as shown in the following illu stration. Apply pressure to snap it into place.
20 Assembling and Main taining the 83 5 Climber Attaching the Handra ils Use the following procedure to i nstall the external handrails on the climber. To attac h the handra ils: 1. Slide a lower handrail boot onto each handrail. Figure 8 : Adding the handrail boot 2.
Assembling the Climber 21 3. Secure the lower handrails using four buttonhead screws and a ⁵₃₂ - inch hex key. Fully tighten the fasteners. 4. Using a ¹₂ - inch soc ket wrench, tighten the t wo nuts beneath the upper handrail clamp unti l the handrails cannot be pulled out of t he clamp.
22 Assembling an d Maintaining the 8 35 Climber 8. Clean the foot steps, p lasti c covers and upright support with a soft cloth or wipe m oistened with an approp riate cleaning solution. For mor e information about which cleaners to use, refer to Daily Cle aning .
Chapter 2 Installing the Console To make installation easier, all Precor Experience Series consoles use the same mo unting hardware and connector locations whenever possible.
24 Assembling and Mainta ining the 83 5 Climber 3. Rest the console on the c onsole mount so that the no tch on the bottom of the cons ole ’ s back pla te rests on the rectangular hook at the bottom of the console mount , as shown in the following fi gure.
Installing the Con sole 25 Connecting Cables (P30) After the console has been seated, separate the individual cables out of the end of th e cable assembly and atta ch them to the appropriate circuit connect ors ins ide the console. Refer to the following diagram and tab le to identify the cables and connectors.
26 Assembling an d Maintaining the 8 35 Climber Completing the Console Installati on Before you complete the f inal installation steps, doub le - check the connections you have made. Make sure that a ll cables are fully and securely connected, and that any unneeded cab les are tied back properly.
Chapter 3 Maintenanc e To keep t he equipment functioni ng properly, perform the minor maintenance tasks in t his section at the int ervals shown on the maintenanc e checklist. Failure to maint ain the equipment as described in t his section could void the Precor Limited War ranty.
28 Assembling and Mainta ining the 83 5 Climber Alternatively, you can clean the equipment with Athletix fitness equipment cleaning wipes (for more information, vi sit www.a thletixprod ucts.com ) CAUTION Vacuum the floor underneath t he equipment frequently to prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt that can in terfere with its operation.
Maintenance 29 Moving the Equipment The equipment is very heavy. If you plan to move it to a new location, obtain the help of an adu lt assistant and use proper lifting techniques. If the eq uipment includes roller wh eels on one end, use the wheels to reduce the load on yourse lf and your assistant.

Chapter 4 Self - Po w er ed Featur es Impo rtan t : This chapter of the m anual describes Precor fitness equipment that can oper ate without being connecte d to AC power. This includes units equippe d with P40 or P20 con soles. H owever, P80 consoles must be con nected to AC power through their power supplies to oper ate.
32 Assembling and Maintainin g the 835 Climb er Informational Displays Prior to Shutdown The equipment saves its battery charge by moving into a shutdown mode. If the use r does not maintain the mi nimum rate of moti on, a 30 - second shutdown process begins.
Self - Powered Features 33 Using the Optio nal Power Adapter After connecting the powe r adapter to the equipment , plug the opposite end into the a ppr opriat e powe r sou rce ( 120 V o r 240 V). CAUTION: When the op tional po wer adap ter is in u se, make sure that the po wer supply cord d oes no t create a sa fety hazar d.
