Place the treadmill on a level surface, with at least eight feet of clearance behind it and two feet on each side.

5 T hank you for selecting the revolutionary PROFORM ® 7 50 treadmill. The 750 treadmill offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts at home more enjoyable and effective. And w hen you’ re not exercising, the unique 750 t readm ill can be folded up, requiring less than half the floor space of other treadmills.
6 ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call toll-free 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed.
7 4. Press the Latch Housing (73) into the left Upright (84). Tap the Latch Housing with a rubber mallet if necessary. Remove the knob from the pin. Make sure that the collar and the spring are on the pin. (Note: If there are two col- lars, place one on each side of the spring.
8 7. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of clear plastic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic. To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the tread- mill. Note: Extra hardware may be included.
9 If you purchase the optional chest pulse sensor, follow the steps below to install the receiver included with the chest pulse sensor. 1. Make sure that the key is removed from the con- s ole and that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated Screw (3) and the Access Door (76) from the back of the Console Base (85).
10 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.

12 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER P lug in the power cord (see page 10). Next, locate t he reset/off circuit breaker on the treadmill near the power cord. Make sure that the circuit breaker is in the reset position. Next, stand on the foot rails of the treadmill.
13 The lower right corner of the display will show t he distance that you have walked or run, the e lapsed time, your pace (in minutes per mile), and the speed of the walking belt.
14 H OW TO USE A PERSONAL TRAINER PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 12. S elect one of the personal trainer programs.
15 Measure your heart rate if desired. See step 6 on page 13. Turn on the fan if desired. S ee step 7 on page 13. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. When the program ends, make sure that the in- cline of the treadmill is at the lowest setting.
16 H OW TO USE A CUSTOM PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 12. S elect one of the custom programs. To select a custom program, press either of the custo m program buttons; “P7” or “P8” will appear in the priority display for a few seconds.
17 H OW TO USE A PULSE PROGRAM Follow the steps below to use a pulse program. Put on the optional chest pulse sensor. You must wear the optional chest pulse sensor to use a pulse program. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 12.
18 When the first segment ends, all target heart rate settings will move one column to the left. The tar- g et heart rate setting for the second segment will then be shown in the flashing Current Segment c olumn. During both pulse programs, the console will reg- ularly compare your heart rate to the target heart rate setting.
19 THE INFORMATION MODE/DEMO MODE T he console features an information mode that keeps track of the total number of hours that the treadmill has b een operated and the total distance that the walking belt has moved.
20 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be per- m anently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
21 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand. Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Pivot the treadmill down until the catch is past the latch pin. 2. Hold the metal frame firmly with both hands , and lower the treadmill to the floor.
22 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
23 With the help of a second person, carefully raise the Uprights (84) to the position shown. Caref ully pi vot th e H ood (41) off. L ocate the Reed Switch (63) and the Magnet (46) on the left side of the Pulley (47). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
24 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
25 SUGGESTED STRETCHES T he correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1 . Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
