3 1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug the power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the lo- cation of the power switch.

6 ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispos e of the pa ckin g mate rial s unti l asse mbly i s comp lete d.
7 3. Identify the Left Upright (89), which is marked with a “Left” sticker or an “L” sticker. Have a sec- ond person hold the Left Upright near the Base (94). Se e th e in se t dr aw in g. Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright (89) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (81).
8 5. Identify the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83). Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright (89). Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright (90). Do not press the Base Covers into place yet. Identify the Left Upright Cover (79) and the Right Upright Cover (80).
9 7. Attach the Left Handrail (88) to the Left Upright (89) with two 5/16" x 1" Bolts (5), two 5/16" Star Washers (11), and a 5/16" x 1 1/4" Bolt (4). Do not fully tighten the Bolts yet. Attach the Right Handrail (87) in the same way.
10 10. With the help of a second person, hold the con- sole assembly near the Left Handrail (88). Connect the Upright Wire (81) to the console wire. See the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If they do not, turn one c onnect or and try again .
1 1 12. Firmly tighten the four the 3/8" x 2 3/4" Bolts (7) and the four 3/8" x 1 1/4" Bolts (8) (only one side is shown). Press the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83) onto the Base (94) until they snap into place. 12 83 8 82 94 11.
12 14. Hold the Left Upright Cover (79) against the console assembly. Align the holes in the Left Upright Cover with the holes in the Left Upright (89). Attach the Left Upright Cover with three #8 x 1/2" Screws (1). Attach the Right Upright Cover (80) to the Right Upright (90) in the same way.
13 16. Make sure that there is a piece of cardboard below the rear of the Frame (56). See page 15 and plug in the power cord. Next, s ee page 17 and turn on the power. The incline system will automatically calibrate and the Frame (56) will move upward and downward.
14 19. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of plastic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic. To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill. Note: Extra hardware may be included.
15 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.
16 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
17 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
18 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the I ncline increase or decrease button or one of the numbered Quick Incline buttons. Each time you p ress one of the buttons, the treadmill will gradu- ally adjust to the selected incline setting.
19 6. Measure your heart rate if desired. Before using t he handgrip pulse sensor, r emove the sheets of plastic from the metal con- tacts on the pulse bar. In addition, make sure that your hands are clean. To measure your heart rate, stand on the foot rails and hold the pulse bar with your palms on the metal contacts; avoid moving your hands.
20 HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the ke y into the consol e. See HOW T O TURN ON TH E POWER on p age 17. 2. Select an onboard workout. To select an onboard workout, press the Calorie button, the Interval button, the Speed button, or the Endure button repeatedly until the desired workout appears in the display.
21 HOW TO USE AN IFIT LIVE WORKOUT 1. Insert the ke y into the consol e. See HOW T O TURN ON TH E POWER on p age 17. 2. Insert the iFit Live module into the console. To use an iFit Live workout, insert the optional iFit Live module into the module housing on the top of the console.
22 HOW TO USE A NIKE+ MODULE To purchase a Nike+ module at any time, call the tele- p hone number on the front cover of this manual. T o use an optional Nike+ module, you must have ac- cess to a computer with an internet connection. You will also need a compatible iPod device (not included).
23 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of treadmill information and allows you to person- alize console settings. To select the information mode, hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console, and then release the Stop button.
24 HOW TO USE THE STEREO SOUND SYSTEM This treadmill has been designed specifically to work w ith iPod and has been certified by the developer to meet Apple performance standards.

26 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
27 Locate the Reed Switch (52) and the Magnet (50) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
28 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the k ey and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
