6 ASSEMBL Y Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials; do not d ispose of th e pa cki ng ma teri als until assemb ly i s c ompl ete d. Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
7 2. Attach a Wheel (66) to the base of the Uprights (69) with a Wheel Bolt (64) and a Nut (13) as shown. Do not overtighten the Nut; the Wheel should turn freely. With the help of a second person, carefully tip the tread- mill onto its other side. See assembly step 1, and attach the other Extension Leg (63) and the remaining two Base Pads (57).

9 10. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Note: Extra hardware may be included. Keep the included allen wrenches in a secure place; the large allen wrench is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 26). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
10 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.

12 HOW TO TU RN ON THE P OWER Plug in th e power c ord ( see pa ge 10). N ext, lo- cate the reset/off circuit b reaker on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Make sure that the circuit breaker is in the “reset” position. Next, s tand on t he foot r ails of t he trea dmill .
13 The upper left corner of the display will show the approximate n umber of calories you have burned dur- i ng your workout. Note: When the calorie goal program is selected, the display will show the number of calories still to be burned.
14 H OW TO USE A SPEED & INCLINE PROGRAM Insert the ke y into the conso le. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 1 2. Select a speed & incline program. To select a speed & in- cline program, press the Program Select button repeatedly until “P–1” or “P–2” appears in the display.
15 H OW TO USE A DISTANCE PROGRAM Insert the ke y into the conso le. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 12. Select a distance program. To select a distance program, press the Program Select button repeatedly until “P–3” or “P–4” appears in the display.

Select the calorie goal program. To select the calorie goal program, press the Program Select button repeatedly until a goal of 50 calories and the words “SET CALS.

18 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO Note: If your stereo has an unused LINE OUT jack, s ee instruction A below. If the LINE OUT jack is being used, see instruction B. A. Plug one end of a long 1/8” to RCA stereo audio cable (available at electronics stores) into the input jack on the console.
19 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR VCR Note: If your VCR has an unused AUDIO OUT jack, s ee instruction A below. If the AUDIO OUT jack is being used, see instruction B. If you have a TV w ith a built-in VCR, see instruction B. If your VCR is connected to your home stereo, see HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO on page 18.
20 If the speed or incline settings are too high or too low, you can manually override the settings at any time by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons on t he console. However, when the next “chirp” is heard, the speed and/or incline will change to t he n ext se tti ngs o f the pr ogr am.

22 THE INF ORMAT ION MOD E/DEM O MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of treadmill usage information and allows you to select a system of measurement. To sele ct the in forma tion mo de, insert the key i nto the conso le whil e holding down the Stop button, and then release the Stop button.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL H OW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be- c ome permanently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 20 kg (45 pounds) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
