1-2 Chapter One WHA T’S IN THE BOX? After you’ve opened the box and remo ved the DP4 1 00/4200 and accessory packs, make sure y ou ha v e all of the items sho wn in Figure 1-2. CAUTION! The DP4100/4200 should be treated like any other precision optical instrument.

Attach the VGA end of the Mac - VGA cable adapter to the other end of the V GA video cable .
2-10 Chapter T wo NOTE: If you are connecting to an Apple PowerBook, attach the Mac - VGA cable adapter to the computer’ s VIDEO OUTPUT port (or video adapter cable). 1 Plug the COMPUTER end of the V GA cable into the computer’ s V GA or Video Out port or into the Mac - V GA cable adapter (Macintosh only).

3-4 Chapter Three TURNING OFF THE PROJECTOR 1 Press and hold the key for one second to turn the projector off. The key glo w s orange . When using the Cy clops remote control, press and hold the key for two seconds . The projector will beep twice to ackno wledge the command.

3-6 Chapter Three Menu Menu Press the Menu key to displa y the menu options in the upper portion of the projected image . If a menu selection is not made within five seconds, the menu will disappear . Menu settings are automatically stored when you exit the menus.

4-8 Chapter Four FREEZE The Freeze option freezes the image on y our projector so y ou can use your remote to control your computer . This might be handy when y ou want to perform functions on your computer without distracting y our audience from your presentation.
Cyclops F/X 4-9 ST ARTING AN EFFECT Once y ou’ve customized an effect, y ou’re ready to use it. 1 Before the presentation, start Cyclops F/X, then minimize the main screen. 2 During your presentation, press the key or button that y ou assigned to each effect to start the desired effect.
4-10 Chapter Four Magnify enlarges a rectangular area around the mouse pointer . Y ou can choose from three levels of magnification (200 percent, 400 percent, or 800 percent). Note: T o enlarge the entire screen, use the Zoom effect. Next/Previous adv ances to the next or previous slide .
Cyclops F/X 4-11 T itle Screen projects an image from a .BMP file. Y ou can use this effect to sho w a predefined image with transition effects during a presentation. Y ou can also pla y an associated sound. Just specify which file to pla y and indicate whether to pla y it when the image appears or continuously .
4-12 Chapter Four Options menu The Options menu offers commands that allow y ou to set up assignments on the remote, w and, or laser pointer , change the look and feel of the cursor , and change the COM port settings.
Maintenance 5-1 Chapter 5 Maintenance REPLACING THE LAMP F ollo w these steps to remo v e the lamp and install a new one: 1 Press the key to turn the lamp off. This allo ws the fans to cool the lamp assembly for 3 0 seconds. 2 After the fan stops, turn off the projector and remo v e the po wer cord from the projector’s pow er receptacle.
5-2 Chapter Five 5 R otate the lamp latch screw to release the lamp. Use your hand or a flat-tipped screw driver . CAUTION! The lamp and surrounding areas get very hot; be careful when you remove the lamp. Make sure that the projector has cooled for at least five minutes.
Maintenance 5-3 8 Rotate the lamp latch screw clockwise to lock it in place . 9 Carefully attach the ribbon cable to the board on the inside front panel. 10 Slide the front panel ov er the zoom lens. 11 Align the foot button with the hole in the front panel.
